On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, the Friars Club presented ELVIS: THE KING IN NEW YORK - A JAZZ & CABARET BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE. Inspired by the recent release of a lavish boxed set from Sony BMG containing all the extant audio and video recordings of Elvis Presley's only formal concert in New York.
There's a new girl in town this January when Tony and Golden Globe winner Linda Lavin takes to our stage for four encore performances of Now, the show she debuted on our stage in September that had audiences demanding more! New York audiences remember her from It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Broadway Bound, Collected Stories, The Diary of Anne Frank, Gypsy, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, and many others, and the world over knows her as Alice Hyatt in the long-running hit TV series Alice. A veteran of the cabaret stage, Linda began her career playing such NYC nightspots as The Showplace in Greenwich Village and midtown's Downstairs at the Upstairs. Recently, Linda released her very first CD, Possibilities. This January, she'll be joined at 54 Below by Musical Director Billy Stritch, John Hart on guitar, and special guest violinist, Aaron Weinstein, playing Linda Lavin, Jan. 11 & 12 at 8:30PM & Jan. 10 at 7PM:. After a successful try out run in June, Danny Bolero,Bernard Dotson and Tom Gamblin return In Boys Night Out. The evening is a celebration of the music of The Rat Pack. The evening features songs like What Kind Of Fool Am I, Mr. Booze, Sway, and many more. The evening is a tribute to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. This show is not an impersonation show just laid back evening celebrating the Rat Pack.

This past week, Klea Blackhurst, Jim Caruso and Billy Stritch brought holiday cheer to the iconic music room Birdland, with their "Swinging Birdland Christmas." At the famed Alwyn Court Jamie deRoy & it's residents performed in the court yard of this New York City designated Landmark's annual Holiday Party. The neo-French Renaissance apartment building was built in 1907 and it's list of celebrity tenants is long. Among them were Frederick Steinway, Oscar Levant, Fred Allen and Natasha Richardson. David Lewis was the music director of the 'Lobby Show' and Emery Davis was on Clarinet.
