NOT THE SAME: the music & lyrics of Bobby Cronin is a one-night only all new concert of ASCAP winning composer/writer Bobby Cronin's music. On Sunday March 28th at the Metropolitan Room, NOT THE SAME will feature many Broadway performers new to Bobby's music and audience, as well as many new songs written for Bobby's numerous projects in the works; THE BEATEN PATH, TIL DEATH DO US PART, CATY BRIDGEWATER, The Untitled Project, and (UN)LUCKY IN LOVE. The night will feature Cronin on the piano heading a four piece band for a night of rockin' uptempos, passionate ballads, comedic tunes, and honest anthems.

Children's Playhouse of Maryland Ends Run of CAPTAIN LOUIE, 3/21

Children's Playhouse of Maryland, in residence at the Community College of Baltimore County, will end its run of the Maryland premiere of the family musical, Captain Louie on March 21. Captain Louie tells the story of a young boy (Louie) who moves to a new neighborhood, and has trouble making friends.

This week we are taking a listen to two wonderful releases from Broadway and West End luminaries John Barrowman and Elaine Paige. Though both have appeared on Broadway, Barrowman in PUTTING IT TOGETHER and Paige in SUNSET BLVD as well as an acclaimed appearance in SWEENEY TODD at City Opera, they are best known for their fantastic work on the West End stage, Barrowman having created roles in MATADOR and THE FIX and Paige having a legendary career creating such impressive roles as Evita, Piaf, Grizabella in CATS, Florence in CHESS, as well as THE DROWSEY CHAPERONE and other appearances in addition to a multi-decade recording and concert career. Darius De Haas Leads Chelsea Symphony Orchestra's Spring Concert Series, 3/27 & 3/28

The Chelsea Symphony announces its fifth concert series of 2009-10 on Saturday, March 27 at 8:00 PM (Spring Concert I) and Sunday, March 28 at 3:00 PM (Spring Concert II) at St. Paul's Church. The program will feature Obie Award winner actor/singer Darius de Haas in composer Aaron Dai's new miniature opera Hamlet: A Pocket Opera. The libretto is by Pulitzer-nominated playwright Jon Marans. Also on the program is music from Verdi's La Forza del Destino, Weber's Der Freischütz, and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante will round out the program on Saturday, and Vanhal's Double Bass Concerto on Sunday.

After breaking box office records and selling out in record time in 2007, the smash-hit musical WICKED will return to the Ohio Theatre for five weeks only July 28-August 29. Tickets for the return engagement will go on sale to the public Thursday, May 20.
