Civic Theatre of Allentown's Late Night Horror Film Series debuts this weekend with a screening of Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho.' All screenings will be held at Civic's historic, and appropriately creepy, 19th Street on consecutive Saturdays at 11:30 pm.

Tony Award winner, Betty Buckley wears the pants in her new show spotlighting traditionally male Broadway songs. Hailed a 'witty, powerfully sung female occupation of male territory, waged with good humor and gusto,' the show features numbers from Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, Pippin, La Cage Aux Folles and more. Buckley comes to Cabaret at the Columbia Club on Nov. 21 and 22 for two sold-out performances.

Minneapolis Musical Theatre opened their season this weekend with the regional premiere of 'Carrie The Musical', an adaptation of the Stephen King novel. I have never seen the 1976 movie or read the book. I was going into the show without any preconceived notions of what the show should or should not be. Admittedly I was nervous. I wasn't sure what to expect, but by the end of 'In' the opening number I knew I was going to enjoy the show.

From the annals of American horror comes 'Carrie, the Musical,' to be presented by Pierrot Production at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre this Halloween season. Eight performances will be presented, including two midnight shows. Performances are Fridays, Oct. 18 and 25 at 8 p.m., Saturdays, Oct. 19 and 26 at 8 p.m. and midnight; and Sundays, Oct. 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on Oct. 18.
