American Theater Company proudly announces Season 29, which kicks off with the tour of its critically-acclaimed production of columbinus to ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage; followed by the holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life: The Radio Playand a special subscriber-only production of The Wizard of OZ: A Radio Play, both directed by ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli. The season continues with the Chicago Premiere of Stephen Karam's 2012 Pulitzer Prize Finalist Sons of the Prophet directed by Artistic Director PJ Paparelli. Closing out the 29th Season, Paparelli will direct the previously announced, restored and revised version of the classic American rock musical Hair. Following the success of The Original Grease, Paparelli now teams up with Hair co-creator James Rado to restore original material from the 1968 off-Broadway production that hasn't been seen in 45 years.

Now celebrating its 21st Anniversary, The Blank Theatre's Nationwide Young Playwrights Festival has chosen 12 plays by young playwrights aged 10 - 19, from six different states. These plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in this year's festival at The Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, June 6 - 30.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced that it will present the 2013 Regional Theatre Award to the Huntington Theatre Company of Boston, Massachusetts. Each year, the Tony Awards Administration Committee presents a Tony Award to a regional theatre on the recommendation of the American Theatre Critics Association. The 2013 Tony Awards, which are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall, on the CBS television network on Sunday, June 9, 2013.

New York Stage and Film (Johanna Pfaelzer, Artistic Director; Thomas Pearson, Executive Director; Mark Linn-Baker, Max Mayer, Leslie Urdang, Producing Directors) and Vassar College (Ed Cheetham, Producing Director) have announced the line-up of their 2013 Powerhouse Theater Season, which includes new works from actor, writer and prolific, Grammy Award-winning musician Steve Martin and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of Broadway'sIn the Heights, among many others. The 2013 Powerhouse Theater Season runs from June 21st - July 28th at Vassar College (Poughkeepsie, New York), and a full calendar and description of events are below. The Ringwald Theatre's acclaimed production of Stephen Karam's Sons of the Prophet must close Monday, April 15, two weeks earlier than announced.

American Theater Company (ATC) announces that the final performances for its critically-acclaimed revised version of columbinus, written by Stephen Karam and Artistic Director PJ Paparelli and directed by Paparelli, will be marked by a visit from Tom Mauser, the father of Columbine victim Daniel Mauser. Mauser will be attending the 2:00PM and 8:00PM performances on Saturday, April 6 and will also participate in a post-show talk-back with the cast of columbinus. Prior to Saturday evening's performance there will be a reception for Mauser co-hosted by ATC and the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence.

Ferndale's Ringwald Theatre will present Stephan Karam's play Sons of the Prophet from April 5-29, 2013. A blisteringly funny play about human suffering, Sons of the Prophet makes its Michigan premiere at The Ringwald, recently voted by Real Detroit readers as the Best Theatre Company in Detroit.

The production is now extended through Sunday, April 7, 2013 at American Theater Company, 1909 W Byron St, Chicago, IL. columbinus has garnered rave critical reviews of its new third act, which premieres material devised from recent interviews with survivors of the Columbine High School Shootings, families of victims and residents of Littleton, Colorado. The new material includes never-before-released information on the shooters and their families and first-hand accounts of both the Columbine and Aurora shootings.
