The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced that playwrights Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and Dominique Morisseau will be honored at the 2015 Steinberg Playwright Awards on Monday, November 16, 2015. Scenes highlighting their work will be performed at the 8th Annual 'Mimi' Awards, which will take place at Lincoln Center Theater.

After having worked together for over 7 years, Stuart Thompson and David Turner are forming a new general management company, Thompson Turner Productions, which will have King Charles III as its first Broadway credit and will continue to be a general management company for Broadway and touring shows.  Thompson will continue to produce under the umbrella of Stuart Thompson Productions.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announced today the complete cast for the Chicago premiere of Domesticated, a provocative dark comedy written and directed by ensemble member and Pulitzer Prize-winner Bruce Norris. The cast features ensemble member Tom Irwin and venerable Chicago actress Mary Beth Fisher as a political couple in the midst of a sex scandal. Irwin has been an ensemble member since 1979, having performed in more than 50 Steppenwolf productions including The Grapes of Wrath and The Seafarer. Fisher, a frequent performer at Goodman Theatre, most recently in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, last performed at Steppenwolf in Dead Man's Cell Phone in 2008. Completing the Domesticated cast are Emily Chang, Esteban Andres Cruz, Meighan Gerachis, Rae Gray, Beth Lacke, Millie Langford, Melanie Neilan, Meg Thalken and Karen Woditsch. American Conservatory Theater kicks off the 2015-16 season with Stephen Adly Guirgis's (The Motherf*cker with the Hat, Jesus Hopped the A Train) outrageous new dark comedy, Between Riverside and Crazy (tonight, September 2-27, 2015).

Barefoot Theatre Company celebrated the 2015 Vassallo Awards with a Spring Gala at the American Ballroom Theater in Manhattan. The ceremony, hosted by VH1's Ellie Lee, honored artistic achievement as well as mentorship and educational outreach to the younger generation of artists in memory of Ed Vassallo. Vassallo's career spanned 20 years and included work producing for the LAByrinth Theatre Company and volunteering with the 52nd Street Project.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents the Chicago premiere production of Grand Concourse, a play full of both humor and heart by Heidi Schreck. Directed by ensemble member Yasen Peyankov, the cast features ensemble members Francis Guinan and Tim Hopper sharing the role of Frog and Mariann Mayberry as Shelley with Brittany Uomoleale as Emma and Victor Almanzar as Oscar.

Bella Poynton is a playwright and Buffalo native, currently working as a teaching artist throughout the Buffalo and Central NY regions. Her plays have been developed at the Great Plains Theater Conference, Otherworld Theater, The Science Fiction Theater Company, Panndora Productions, and The Barrow Group. She recently won the 8th Annual Festival of New Plays at Panndora Productions, and is a finalist in the 2015 Samuel French OOB Short Play Festival.
