According to The Hollywood Reporter, Giancarlo Esposito is the latest to join Baz Luhrmann's upcoming Netflix music drama THE GET DOWN.

Elephant Theatre Company is delighted to present the World Premier of The Great Divide by Lyle Kessler, directed by David Fofi. Opening night is Saturday, July 11th at the Lillian Theatre (1036 N. Stageworks Theatre is revving its engines for what is sure to be a summer to remember in the Channel District with the works of Pulitzer Prize-winning dramatist Stephen Adly Guirgis, whose play, The Mother****er With the Hat, will run July 9-26 after, which recently had a successful run in London by a local theatre company.

Atlantic Theater Company presents revivals of Ghost Stories: The Shawl and Prairie du Chien, two haunting short plays by Atlantic co-founder and Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet. Ghost Stories: The Shawl and Prairie du Chien began previews on May 27 and officially open tonight, June 16, for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 28 Off Broadway at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street).

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announced today the extension of The Herd, the debut play of Olivier Award-winning actor Rory Kinnear currently playing to critical acclaim in its U.S. premiere production in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre. In a four-star review, the Chicago Tribune raves, 'A family drama that sticks with you...this is Steppenwolf acting at its best' and The New York Times says, 'a buoyantly entertaining play [that] breathes with real, complicated life.' Directed by ensemble member and Tony Award-winning director Frank Galati, The Herd adds six additional performances, extending the run through June 14, 2015 with the original cast. The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced that the Eighth Annual 'Mimi' Awards will be presented on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Lincoln Center Theater.  The 'Mimi' Awards are presented biennially to honor the accomplishments of some of the most gifted up-and-coming American playwrights.
