Hunter Dance Center and Open Dance Project will present a two-day Pina Bausch repertoire workshop led by Stephanie Troyak, the only U.S.-based artist authorized to teach Bausch's work, in Houston, TX.
Strays, a short film about the day in the life of a Pakistani immigrant, is set to be distributed by 7 Palms Entertainment. The film features a cast of Broadway alums, led by James Rana, who starred in The Band's Visit.
The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts presents the world premiere of keepsake in collaboration with ISHIDA Dance Company featuring works choreographed by ISHIDA, French choreographer Jeremy Galdeano, and Swedish dancer and choreographer John Wannehag. We got to speak with the three choreographers, who gave us a sneak peek into their program.

Unfortunately ISHIDA DANCE’s NO SPEAKING LEFT IN ME is only at the MATCH complex this weekend for Friday and Saturday night. It is a pity the company couldn’t run these works longer, because word of mouth should be strong after this amazing showcase of modern contemporary dance. It is something that Houston needs, an outlet for more modern iterations of the art of movement in our cultural landscape.

For this debut, September 29th - October 4th at the Joyce, this company of 16 dancers, aged 18-24, is presenting an all new version of the parent company's 2000 work of repertory highlights, Decadance.
