The world premiere production of 'Venice' opens this Sunday (October 17) at 6:30 p.m. Currently in previews through October 16, the new musical with book by Eric Rosen, music by Matt Sax and lyrics by Matt Sax and Eric Rosen, and additional music by Curtis Moore, is presented by Center Theatre Group at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as a co-production with Kansas City Repertory Theatre. 'Venice' continues through November 14.

The cast and designers have been set for the world premiere production of 'Venice,' which begins rehearsals September 7, 2010.

Jason Marks followed his dream and kept 'Chasing Rainbows.' The singer received his 'Big Broadway Break' today from Staybridge Suites ? Times Square ? New York City and was named winner of the hotel's video contest in which contestants could sing either 'I'm Always Chasing Rainbows' or 'Give My Regards to Broadway.' Jason, a native of Richmond, VA, will receive a six-month stay at Staybridge Suites Times Square, a $5,000 stipend, sessions at Broadway Classroom to hone his skills and meetings with Broadway experts. He will also receive the opportunity to perform at Don't Tell Mamas in New York City on July 29, as part of Seth Rudetsky's Broadway Chatterbox live radio show on Sirius/XM.

The musical most recently had a development reading at the Berkshire Musical Theater Workshop this past May.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival, in association with TPTE LLC, will present the New York premiere of TO PAINT THE EARTH, music by Jonathan Portera and words by Daniel Frederick Levin, directed by Michael Bush (Stormy Weather, Based on a Totally True Story), as part of the 5th Annual NY Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF).
