Soho Rep. announces casting and performance dates for the world premiere of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins's An Octoroon, directed by Soho Rep. Artistic Director Sarah Benson. The production, April 23-May 18, concludes a banner New York season for the celebrated playwright, whose Appropriate makes its New York premiere February 25-April 6 at Signature Theatre.
Stella Adler Studio of Acting Partners with 'Getting Out and Staying Out'

The studio is currently partnering with advocacy organizations Getting Out and Staying Out (GOSO) and Phoenix House, one of the country's most prominent drug rehabilitation centers. The studio also recently received a three-year, 21st Century grant from the U.S. Department of Education to bring a traditional theater school program into seven New York City low-income middle schools, which is considered a non-traditional setting.

Lucas Samaras: Offerings from a Restless Soul features over 60 works drawn from The Metropolitan Museum of Art's rich collection of the highly idiosyncratic body of work made by Lucas Samaras. The Metropolitan Museum's installation includes a new gift of 17 objects that range from Samaras' abstract work of the 1960s to his recent digitally based pieces. Designed with the input of the artist, the installation will be installed in both the north and south mezzanine galleries in the Lila Acheson Wallace Wing for modern and contemporary art.

In celebration of the 65th Anniversary, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York and Art of Acting Studio in Los Angeles have released a brand new video showcasing the unique culture and community of these two venerable institutions. The video provides an 'inside look' into the history, mission, curriculum and cultural programming of the studio. Over 60 students and 20 faculty participated in the making of the video created by Glamsmash Productions.
