Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for Alan Ayckbourn's science fiction comedy Communicating Doors. Eleven plays penned by Alan Ayckbourn have been produced by the Alley, including the American premiere of Henceforward, directed by Ayckbourn, in 1987 and House & Garden in 2002. Alan Ayckbourn has been inducted into the American Theatre's Hall of Fame, received the 2010 Critics' Circle Award for Services to the Arts, became the first British playwright to receive both Olivier and Tony Special Lifetime Achievement Awards and was knighted in 1997 for services to the theatre.
Catherine Trieschmann is back in New York at Women's Project Theater with a tart, satirical skewing of small town cultural wars entitled The Most Deserving. This New York premiere by the acclaimed playwright of crooked and How The World Began (also produced by Women's Project Theater) who is a resident of a small town in western Kansas is directed by Shelley Butler and begins previews Sunday, March 30, at 2:30pm for an opening Tuesday, April 8, at 7:30pm (runs through May 4) at New York City Center Stage II, 131 West 55th Street. Rehearsals begin today, Friday, March 7.
STELLA ADLER LAB THEATRE has announced its opening production for the 2014 Season. John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation to be directed by Academy Award winner Milton Justice. Justice directed the critically acclaimed production of Waiting for Godot, which opened the Lab Theatre last fall.
Two River Theater in Red Bank current production is 'Pinkolandia,' the story of an exiled Chilean family in America. Andrea Morales will play one of the young sisters in the show.
Casting has been announced for the world premiere of BREATHING TIME, a new play by "House of Cards" creator Beau Willimon, directed by Aaron Rossini and presented Off-Broadway by Fault Line Theatre. The cast will feature Whitney Conkling, Craig Wesley Divino, Lee Dolson, John Racioppo, Shannon Marie Sullivan and Molly Thomas. The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, has chosen actor/writer Dennis Staroselsky as it's Playwright-in-Residence for 2014. Previous residents include Halley Feiffer, Mia Chung, Anton Dudley, Christina Gorman, Zayd Dohrn, and Peter Nickowitz. Over seventy writers submitted applications and full-length plays for consideration in the merit-based annual search.
The studio is currently partnering with advocacy organizations Getting Out and Staying Out (GOSO) and Phoenix House, one of the country's most prominent drug rehabilitation centers. The studio also recently received a three-year, 21st Century grant from the U.S. Department of Education to bring a traditional theater school program into seven New York City low-income middle schools, which is considered a non-traditional setting.

Lucas Samaras: Offerings from a Restless Soul features over 60 works drawn from The Metropolitan Museum of Art's rich collection of the highly idiosyncratic body of work made by Lucas Samaras. The Metropolitan Museum's installation includes a new gift of 17 objects that range from Samaras' abstract work of the 1960s to his recent digitally based pieces. Designed with the input of the artist, the installation will be installed in both the north and south mezzanine galleries in the Lila Acheson Wallace Wing for modern and contemporary art.
