Performances of WONDERLAND - A New Alice. A New Musical begin tonight, Wednesday, January 5 at 7:30pm at The David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts (Judy Lisi, President and CEO) in Tampa, Florida where it will run through January 16, 2011.

Clayton Cornelious as Caterpillar, Jose Llana (Spelling Bee, Flower Drum Song) as El Gato, Karen Mason (Hairspray, Mamma Mia!) as Queen of Hearts, Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde, Cabaret, Jekyll and Hyde) as Mad Hatter, Carly Rose Sonenclar (Les Miserables, Little House on the Prairie) as Chloe and Edward Staudenmayer (Spamalot, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me) as White Rabbit. The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center will present the World Premiere of Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure. The production will debut in Tampa on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 in TBPAC's Ferguson Hall, the music for Wonderland is by Frank Wildhorn, the composer of The Civil War and Jekyll & Hyde, with book and lyrics by Jack Murphy. Gregory Boyd, artistic director of Houston's Alley Theatre, will direct. Rehearsals have begun and you can see the first pictures direct from the studio hall right here on BWW!

The 2008-2009 Reprise Theatre Company season continues with the classic international hit 'Man of La Mancha,' starring Brent Spiner as Cervantes/Quixote. Julia Migenes, the renowned opera and theatre performer, will play Aldonza/Dulcinea; Valerie Perri will play the role of Aldonza/Dulcinea at matinee performances; and Tony nominee Lee Wilkof will play Sancho Panza. 'Man of La Mancha' is written by Dale Wasserman with music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion. The production will be directed by Michael Michetti, co-artistic director of The Theatre at Boston Court. 'La Mancha' will play at the Freud Playhouse from February 14-March 1 (press opening February 15).

On Wednesday, July 5th, Phil Collins and Josh Strickland of Tarzan, The Broadway Musical, will be featured on 'Access Hollywood'

The original cast recording of Tarzan will be released in retail stores nationwide by Walt Disney Records on Tuesday, June 27th, but the cast recording is available for pre-order now by visiting the iTunes store

Perhaps it's too late to just display models of director Bob Crowley's set designs and a few of his costumes in some art gallery with a plaque reading, 'Someday we hope someone will write a good musical utilizing these.'
