The world-premiere musical production of Bonnie & Clyde at La Jolla Playhouse features Laura Osnes as Bonnie, Tony-nominee Stark Sands whose run of Twelfth Night ends this weekend, as Clyde and the Academy Award-nominated (Georgia) and Emmy-winning (Amber Waves,George Wallace) Mare Winningham as Bonnie's mother. Also set for the cast are Melissa Van Der Schyff as Bonnie's sister-in-law (BIG RIVER, PIPPIN), and Chris Peluso as Deputy Ted Hinton (MAMMA MIA!). Additional casting news is expected shortly.

Bonnie & Clyde will run November 10 - December 20, 2009 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre.

The entirety of The Public Theater's positively scrumptious new Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night is played on and around designer John Lee Beatty's grassy field, which is dominated by two large hills. It's the kind of setting that might remind you of dozens of locales in Central Park where brave little tykes might scurry down the steep inclines or where lusty couples might settle down for a quick afternoon make-out session or where a toddler's parent might amuse his kid by popping his head out from behind the soft green hiding place. Directed by Actor's Express Artistic Director Freddie Ashley, the special event takes place on the Alliance's Hertz Stage Monday, October 12, the 11th anniversary of the brutal murder of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard.

On October 12, 2009, La Jolla Playhouse will join with theatres across the country in presenting a reading of the Tectonic Theater Project's new work: The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later, by The Laramie Project creators Moisés Kaufman, Leigh Fondakowski, Greg Pierotti, Andy Paris and Stephen Belber. This compelling and groundbreaking epilogue to the original piece will premiere on October 12, 2009 at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and at more than 100 other theaters in all 50 states, Canada, Great Britain, Spain, Hong Kong and Australia.

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) has announced the trio of English actors who will appear in the American premiere production of Alexi Kaye Campbell's The Pride, directed by Joe Mantello. Hugh Dancy (Adam, Journey's End), Andrea Riseborough (Happy Go Lucky) and Ben Whishaw (Bright Star, Brideshead Revisited) will star in the four person play, with a fourth actor to be announced shortly. The production will mark Ms. Riseborough and Mr. Whishaw's New York stage debuts. Performances begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on January 27 and continue through March 20, 2010. Opening night is set for Tuesday, February 16 at 7:00 p.m.
