An original new musical drama that gives a history lesson about institutionalized racism in America.

An all-new THEATER TALK presents the compelling backstory of a dramatic new Broadway musical - one that seemingly defies musical treatment. Talking about the show ALLEGIANCE - the story of a Japanese-American family's internment by the U.S. government during World War II, as well as the show's six-and-a-half-year journey to the Longacre Theatre, are its stars George Takei, Lea Salonga and Telly Leung and director Stafford Arima.

Performances of the new American musical Allegiance began at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street) on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 with an official Opening Night set for Sunday, November 8, 2015. Allegiance stars Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway joined by 'Star Trek' icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and 'Glee' starTelly Leung. Allegiance is the vibrant and unforgettable story of one family's resilience in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds, inspired by Takei's real-life experience as a Japanese American during World War II.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) announces plans for a LIFETIME network docu-series following their win at the New York Television Festival. The pilot was entered in A&E's independent pilot competition and came out of the festival as the winner of the Lifetime development deal. Watch this two-and-a-half minute long piece on BDF.

A veteran of four previous Broadway musicals, this is his first time originating a role on Broadway.

Allegiance stars Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway, and later this month, fans will get a chance to get up close and personal with the superstar.  The October 31 matinee performance of Allegiance is Pinoy Day! 'Pinoy' is an informal demonym referring to the Filipino people in the Philippines and overseas Filipinos around the world. Salonga, the first Filipina Tony Award-winner, will host a post-show talkback, so have your questions ready!

The cast of the new musical  ALLEGIANCE were visited by a trio of young Broadway stars at the Sunday matinee performance at the Longacre Theatre.  Tony nominee Sydney Lucas who was one of the stars of 'Fun Home' joined her brother, Jake Lucas who is in 'The King & I' along with current 'Fun Home' co-star Oscar Wiliams for the performance. FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will present THE SONGS OF F. MICHAEL HAYNIE on Friday, October 16th at 11:30pm. Ben Thompson (Matilda, Holler If Ya Hear Me), Julia Mattison (Godspell), and Kasie Gasparini (Mamma Mia!) join a lineup that includes Alex Brightman (School of Rock, Matilda), Taylor Louderman (Bring It On, "Peter Pan LIVE!"), Daniel Quadrino (Newsies), and more.

Manhattan Concert Productions has announced initial casting, leadership, and ticketing information for their concert performances of Tony award-winning musical The Secret Garden in its 25th Anniversary year. Both concerts will take place at David Geffen Hall (formerly known as Avery Fisher Hall), Lincoln Center on February 21, 2016 and February 22, 2016, both at 8pm. The Secret Garden marks the fourth installment of Manhattan Concert Productions' Broadway Series that has included Ragtime, Titanic, and Parade. The concert performances of The Secret Garden will feature a chorus of over 200 singers from the across the United States, a professional cast and creative team, and the enlarged forces of the New York City Chamber Orchestra.
