The breakout star of GLEE, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS and more - Darren Criss will return to Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the Tony Award winning Best Musical Revival, for a limited 12-week engagement starting Wednesday, April 29 at the Belasco Theatre.

Michael C. Hall Covers HEDWIG for John Cameron Mitchell Starting Tonight

Golden Globe and Drama Desk Award winner Michael C. Hall will return to Hedwig and the Angry Inch from tonight, February 17 - Saturday, February 21. John Cameron Mitchell will continue in the show through Saturday, February 14 and will then take a one week leave to attend to a knee injury. John will return as 'Hedwig' on Tuesday, February 24 through Sunday, April 26.

Golden Globe and Drama Desk Award winner Michael C. Hall will return to Hedwig and the Angry Inch from Tuesday, February 17 - Saturday, February 21. As BroadwayWorld reported on Saturday, John Cameron Mitchell, who recently returned to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, injured his knee during the production's early show on Saturday night. He completed the performance, but was unable to perform the 10PM late show, as audience members were told when arriving. UPDATE: BroadwayWorld had just learned that the star will officially reurn to the show tonight for the scheduled 8PM performance.

John Cameron Mitchell Injures Knee Mid-Performance, Forcing HEDWIG to Cancel Saturday's Late Show

John Cameron Mitchell, who recently returned to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, injured his knee during the production's early show on Saturday night. He completed the performance, but was unable to perform the 10PM late show, as audience members were told when arriving for the show. A production source tells us that the star was headed to the doctor last night, and we will share further updates as we can.

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH Donates $200K to the Hetrick-Martin Institute

Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the hit musical revival and winner of four 2014 Tony Awards now playing at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street), is pleased to announce a third donation has been made to Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) as part of the show's ongoing partnership with the organization. This donation of $200,000 brings the total raised by Hedwig for HMI to $400,000 in less than one year.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat Accepting Applications For Summer 2015

Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced that applications are open for the fifth summer of retreats for musical theatre writers and are due February 23. Rhinebeck Writers Retreat will host 8 writing teams with 8 individual weeklong residencies in a private home in the countryside near Rhinebeck, New York. The retreats will take place between June 28 and August 30. Applications are due February 23 and the submission fee is $25.

He's Pulling the Wig Back Down from the Shelf! John Cameron Mitchell to Join HEDWIG on Broadway for 8 Weeks!

It's been rumored since early in the new production's run -- and now it's official! Original star John Cameron Mitchell will return to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and The Angry Inch, which they debuted in the 1998 hit Off-Broadway production. Mitchell will step into the role on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre starting Wednesday, January 21 for a strictly limited eight week engagement. Mitchell will join co-star and Tony Award winner Lena Hall who continues with the production as Yitzhak.

Golden Globe and Drama Desk Award winner Michael C. Hall has extended his limited engagement in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Hall will play his final performance in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival on Sunday, January 18. Casting for the next Hedwig will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Public Extends New Musical THE FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE

The Public Theater announced a two-week extension today for The Fortress of Solitude, a world premiere musical based on the nationally best-selling novel of the same name by Jonathan Lethem. With a book by Itamar Moses, music and lyrics by Michael Friedman, and conceived and directed by Daniel Aukin, The Fortress of Solitude began previews on Tuesday, September 30 and was officially scheduled to close on Sunday, November 2. It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 16.
