He completed the performance, but was unable to perform the 10PM late show, as audience members were told when arriving.
UPDATE: BroadwayWorld had just learned that the star will officially reurn to the show tonight for the scheduled 8PM performance.
Now according to the show's official Twitter page, the star is on the mend: '#JCM in good spirits. His knee being checked out by doctor. We hope he will return to Hedwig on Tuesday, our next scheduled performance.'

The Public Theater announced a two-week extension today for The Fortress of Solitude, a world premiere musical based on the nationally best-selling novel of the same name by Jonathan Lethem. With a book by Itamar Moses, music and lyrics by Michael Friedman, and conceived and directed by Daniel Aukin, The Fortress of Solitude began previews on Tuesday, September 30 and was officially scheduled to close on Sunday, November 2. It will now run an additional two weeks through Sunday, November 16.
