Darren Criss Steps Into HEDWIG's Stilettos on Broadway Tonight

As BWW previously reported, Darren Criss will return to Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the Tony Award winning Best Musical Revival, for a limited 12-week engagement starting tonight, April 29 at the Belasco Theatre.

God has chosen His Angels! Casting is now complete for the new Broadway comedy An Act of God starring Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jim Parsons. Joining Parsons will be two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Finian's Rainbow, Young Frankenstein) as 'Michael' & Tim Kazurinsky ('SNL', Police Academy) as 'Gabriel'. Fernanda Coppel, Halley Feiffer and Benjamin Scheuer to Launch Williamstown Theatre Festival's New Play, Musical Commissioning Programs

Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Mandy Greenfield has announced a New Play Commissioning Program and New Musical Commissioning Program, through which the Festival will commission and develop three to five projects annually from playwrights, composers and collaborative devisers from across the career spectrum. The program launches with inaugural artists Fernanda Coppel (whose new play King Liz premieres this summer at Second Stage), Halley Feiffer (I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard, which just finished an acclaimed run at the Atlantic Theater Company), and Benjamin Scheuer (creator of the current Off Broadway hit The Lion). Each commission also includes a writing residency at Williamstown Theatre Festival.

Benjamin Scheuer Receives ASCAP Foundation Jamie Deroy & Friends Songwriting Award

Producer Eva Price has announced that Benjamin Scheuer, writer and performer of the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show The Lion, has been awarded the 2015 ASCAP Foundation Jamie deRoy & friends Songwriting Award. He will receive a grant of $1,250, which will be presented on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Benjamin Scheuer's THE LION to Launch National Tour This Fall

Producer Eva Price is proud to announce that The Lion, the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, will play the Portland Center Stage (128 NW 11th Avenue, Portland, OR 97209) from May 2 through June 14, 2015, with the national tour officially launching on August 22, 2015 at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell, Massachusetts (50 East Merrimack Street).

Weston Playhouse to Present New Musical RESIDENT ALIEN in Concert, Today

Once again, the Weston Playhouse Theatre Company will light up a winter night with a free concert of songs from an exciting new musical performed by top Broadway talent. On Today, February 28 at 8 pm, a cast of five will sing selections from Katya Stanislavskaya's new musical Resident Alien. The event has been designated a VT Arts 2015 event by the Vermont Arts Council.

Tony Winner Lena Hall Will Depart HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH This Spring

Hedwig and the Angry Inch's Tony Award winner Lena Hall will play her final performance as Yitzhak on Saturday, April 4. Hall created the role of Yitzhak at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) earning rave reviews for her performance being called 'excellent,' (New York Times), 'dazzling' (Harper's Bazaar), 'magnificent' (The Chicago Tribune), and 'simply wonderful' (The Hollywood Reporter).
