Strawdog Theatre Company opens their 23rd anniversary season with Russel Crouse and Howard Lindsey's 1946 Pulitzer Prize-winning political comedy, State of the Union, directed by Geoff Button, October 10 - November 13 at the Strawdog Theatre, 3829 N Broadway.

Theatre Jacksonville is a volunteer based community theatre whose mission is to enrich lives and broaden cultural understanding through community participation in theatre arts. This mission supports inclusion and the development of diversity in the Company's artistic, volunteer, audience and donor bases. This goal is achieved through presenting plays and programs of noted artistic excellence, supporting volunteers and students with exceptional training and educational opportunities, and allowing for the development of unique and/or original performance projects and events by Florida artists. The theatre opened in 1919 and is now entering its 91st season. Theatre Jacksonville is located at 2032 San Marco Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.theatrejax.com. Adult tickets will cost $25 for all shows.

Most everyone is familiar with the modern version starring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton. The original movie stars Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor and takes place in the 1950s, as does Pull-Tight's production.

In a thoroughly engrossing and original piece, actor Kevin Dulude portrays Katharine Hepburn in selected highlights throughout her long career. Each segment includes a song from that time period, which though Hepburn never sang originally, adds mysteriously fascinating luster to the Hepburn mystique. If she had recorded an album of these songs, each would punctuate to perfection a feeling, mood or opinion that was undeniably Hepburn.This portrayal is not an impersonation, mind you, but a loving and moving tribute - both humorous and poignant - and, remarkably well etched.
