Flamenco Acts to Hit Joe's Pub This Spring

This Spring, Joe's Pub at The Public is headquarters for flamenco and flamenco-inspired artists. The acclaimed Flamenco Festival's New York edition returns, from March 10-18, with their Beyond Flamenco series, featuring Josemi Carmona & Javier Colina, Alfonso Aroca, Sonia Olla & Ismael Fernandez and Ultra High Flamenco. Then, from April 17-27, Joe's Pub favorites, the dazzling Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca, return for their annual weeklong residency with a new show called Intimo.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2016-2017 season with Constellations, directed by Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Artistic Director Eric Rosen. When it comes to this multi-dimensional love story, just how much is written in the stars?  Marianne and Roland's relationship unfolds across time and space in this spellbinding, heartbreaking look at life and love at the intersection of choice and destiny, written by Nick Payne.

Company of Fools to Present Nick Payne's CONSTELLATIONS

This winter, Company of Fools will present Nick Payne's critically acclaimed play Constellations. Constellations will run February 15 through March 4, 2017, at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey.

The Return of FRIDAY 5 (+1): ANTIGONE at Belmont University

In Ara Vito's Southern Gothic-inspired treatment of Sophocles' Antigone, the bond between two sisters is challenged by the tragedies of national and familial conflict. Against the backdrop of a decaying home in middle-of-nowhere country, the air is imbued with history and spirits walk the earth. Tragedy is yesterday and tomorrow and now - uncovered by love, betrayal, death, and hope. Summer Shack directs.

Theater for the New City Presents GRAND THEFT MUSICAL

Theater for the New City, Crystal Field, Executive Director, presents Grand Theft Musical, a world premiere musical based on Robert Sickinger's 1994 musical Platinum Taps, with music composed by John Taylor Thomas. 

The Chan Centre presents Noche Flamenca's ANTIGONA, A Fierce Union of Flamenco and Greek Tragedy

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC) presents Noche Flamenca'sAntigona, their critically-acclaimed work fusing flamenco and Greek tragedy, March 12 at 7pm in the Chan Shun Concert Hall. Adapted from Sophocles' Antigone, and starring Bessie-award winner Soledad Barrio as the lead, Antigona looks at repression, heroism and loss in a fiery, multi-media spectacle.

Miami New Drama at Colony Theatre Presents the American Premiere of TERROR

As part of its new permanent residency and management role at Colony Theatre on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, Miami New Drama officially begins its 2017 season with the American premiere of Terror. The play will be directed by two-time Tony Award-winning Director Gregory Mosher, who is also the former Artistic Director of Lincoln Center in New York City. Under the Artistic Direction of Co-Founder Michel Hausmann, Miami New Drama brings the American adaptation and translation of this German play stateside. The original German version has been translated not only in script, but also to be consistent with American law. Previews for the American premiere of Terror begin January 26, 2017 and the show runs January 28 through February 19, 2017.  

ONCE UPON A TIME's Ginnifer Goodwin to Star in CONSTELLATIONS at Geffen Playhouse

The Geffen Playhouse today announced that Ginnifer Goodwin (Once Upon a Time, Big Love) will make her Los Angeles stage debut as Marianne in Constellations. The play, which was a critical hit when it opened on Broadway in 2015, is written by Nick Payne and directed by Giovanna Sardelli (Geffen Playhouse's Guards at the Taj).

BWW Interview: Bryce Pinkham Discusses his 'Wildly Quirky' Role on MERCY STREET

Fresh off of his Broadway return leading the feel-good musical HOLIDAY INN at Roundabout's Studio 54, Tony-nominee Bryce Pinkham describes his next role as 'wildly quirky,' 'an iron fist in a velvet glove,' and possessing 'a certain verbal flair.' Beginning this Sunday, January 22nd, Pinkham joins PBS's Civil War medical drama, MERCY STREET, as Major Clayton McBurney III, the new head of the hospital at Mansion House.

San Francisco Opera Announces 2017-2018 Season

San Francisco Opera General Director Matthew Shilvock and Music Director Nicola Luisotti today announced plans for the 2017-18 repertory season. The Company's 95th season will open Friday, September 8 with a gala performance of Giacomo Puccini'sTurandot led by Maestro Luisotti and an international cast starring Martina Serafin, Maria Agresta and Brian Jagde.
