Barbara Robertson and Alex Weisman Lead an All-Star Cast Tonight!

When we know tomorrow will just bring more tragedy, why do we get out of bed? Emerging playwright K.M.C. explores that question with humor, a fistful of feathers, and a plethora of plums in Jocasta, or The Three Plums by exploring Jocasta's last day behind the scenes of Sophocles' Oedipus Rex. While Oedipus and the men of the court argue about guilt, destiny, and hubris, in the queen's private bedchamber, Jocasta and her maid, who has since been forgotten by history, try to find meaning in the final moments of their shattered lives.

Route 66 Theatre Company introduces, develops, produces, and exports new work for the stage. The road begins with our new play development process and reaches west, where our World and Chicago Premiere shows are given an advocate for further regional productions along the road less traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles. Since the company's founding, Route 66 has produced 10 productions, 2 in two cities including an Off-Broadway premiere, been nominated for ten Jeff Awards and won two. Route 66 is now a resident company of The Den Theatre.
