Theatre Clwyd Announce All-Welsh Cast of CYRANO DE BERGERAC

Theatr Clwyd Artistic Director Tamara Harvey today announces the full casting for Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac which also features new Welsh poetry from Twm Morys. Steffan Rhodri leads the all-Welsh company in the role of Cyrano, with Sara Lloyd-Gregory as Roxanne and Marc Rhys as Christian, alongside Wayne Cater, Steven Elliott, Victoria John, Rhys Parry Jones, Daniel Llewelyn-Williams, Gwawr Loader, Sion Pritchard, Aled Pugh, Simon Holland Roberts and Dafydd Llyr Thomas.

Marilyn Caserta to Lead SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM at Actors' Playhouse

Asolo Repertory Theatre (Sarasota, FL.) kicked off its 2015-16 season with the Tony Award-winning musical West Side Story on November 13th. Two-time Tony Award nominee Joey McKneely (who reproduced the choreography for the celebrated 2009 Broadway revival) directed Robbins' timeless choreography for Asolo Rep's production.

Bay Area Musicians to Commemorate Life of Herbert Bielawa, 4/29

The life, work and legacy of beloved and prolific Bay Area composer, pianist, conductor and educator Herbert Bielawa (1930-2015) will be celebrated in a concert of his music Friday, April 29, at 8 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, 1 Lawson Road, Kensington. Among other accomplishments, Bielawa served on the music faculty of San Francisco State University for 25 years, where he founded the contemporary music ensemble Pro Musica Nova, created electronic and computer music studios, instigated ground-breaking programs and curricula and was an indefatigable champion of new music. Admission to the concert –which spans 50 years of Bielawa's work--is free of charge and the public is invited to celebrate this remarkable artist, whose contributions to the Bay Area and American musical scenes have been substantial. 

Kent Tritle to Lead World Premiere of Organ Transcription of Mahler's Symphony No. 8, 4/7

?The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, in collaboration with the Manhattan School of Music and Oratorio Society of New York, presents the world premiere of a transcription for organ, vocal soloists, and choruses, of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 8, on Thursday, April 7th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), Manhattan. This event follows the two performances of the symphony in its original orchestration at the Cathedral on February 24th and 25th.

A RAISIN IN THE SUN Coming to Coventry's Belgrade Theatre

Lorraine Hansberry's groundbreaking play, the first on Broadway written by a Black woman, will visit the Belgrade Theatre from Tues 22 - Sat 26 March in a new production directed by Eclipse Theatre's Dawn Walton. This intense family drama, written on the cusp of the civil rights era, sees the Younger family await the arrival of a cheque for a life changing $10,000. Driven to conflict as they encounter issues of inequality, housing and lack of opportunity that continue to resonate today, the play acts as a stark warning to anyone who measures happiness and personal worth in capital gain.
