Get transported back to the roaring 20's as Rockwell: Table & Stage (www.rockwell-la.com) is transformed into the world of Gatsby for a one-night-only New Year's Eve extravaganza. Your evening begins with a three-course prix fixe dinner created by chefs Wayne Elias and Martin Gonzalez, followed by a performance of Rockwell's acclaimed For the Record: Baz Luhrmann, where powerhouse performers from music, stage and screen fill the space around you with iconic music and moments from Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, Strictly Ballroom and The Great Gatsby. The hit "For The Record" series will leave its resident home in Los Feliz for one night only and head to Hollywood to perform "Tarantino In Concert" at famed House of Blues Sunset Strip. Upright Cabaret has named veteran Broadway star, director and recording artist Billy Porter as Artistic Director overseeing work with affiliated artists on shaping their performances, liaise with musical directors on song selection and interpretation and provide added structure to existing shows. Porter will also work with Upright on cultivating new shows which further expand the cabaret art form, using Upright?s home base of Mark?s Restaurant in West Hollywood as a workshop for the development of new work.
