Rehearsals have now begun for the West End production of hit Broadway musical MEMPHIS, which will have preview performances at the Shaftesbury Theatre, London from 9 October 2014 with Opening Night on 23 October 2014. Winner of four 2010 Tony Awards® including Best Musical, MEMPHIS has a Grammy® Award-winning original score by Bon Jovi founding member David Bryan and book by Joe DiPietro.

Today, 9 December 2013, 13 year old Mitchell Tobin from Florida, USA, will become the thirty-sixth boy and the eighth American to play Billy Elliot in the West End, having previously played the title role in the North American touring production. Billy Elliot the Musical is now in its ninth year at the Victoria Palace Theatre where it is currently booking to May 2015. Having now been seen by nearly 9.5 million people worldwide,Billy Elliot the Musical has been the recipient of over 80 major international awards.

Today, 13 November 2013, 11 year old Bradley Perret from Juan les Pins, France will become the thirty-fifth boy to play Billy Elliot in the West End and the first French-born boy to play the title role. Also joining the cast today will be 11 year old, Freddie Butterfield from West Yorkshire, as Billy's best friend Michael. Check out the photos below!

Also joining the cast will be 10 year old Demi Lee from Middlesborough, as Billy's dance teacher's daughter Debbie. Now in its ninth year at the Victoria Palace Theatre, Billy Elliot the Musical was recently awarded its fifth Olivier Award - the BBC Radio 2 Audience Award voted for by the theatregoing public. From 13 May 2013 Anna-Jane Casey will join the West End cast of Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre to play Billy's dance teacher Mrs Wilkinson. Also joining the cast are Kevin Wathen as Billy's brother, Tony, Howard Crossley as George and Alexander Loxton as Older Billy.

Today, 5 March 2013, 11 year old Zach Atkinson from Manchester joins the cast of Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre to play Billy Elliot's best friend Michael. He alternates the role with current Michaels, Joe Massey and Thomas Moore.

Today, 6 February 2013, 13 year old Tade Biesinger from Bountiful, Utah, US will become the thirty second boy to play Billy Elliot in the West End. Having performed the title role on Broadway, Tade will become the second boy to have performed the role in the US and the UK when he makes his West End debut at the Victoria Palace Theatre.

Based on the Oscar nominated film, Billy Elliot the Musical is an inspirational story of one boy's dream to realise his ambitions against the odds. Set in the North East of England against the background of the historic 1984/85 miners' strike, Billy pursues his passion for dance in secret to avoid disapproval of his struggling family.
