Melbourne Theatre Company today announced that a dazzling result at the box office in 2013 has helped the company deliver a sound financial result that, accompanied by a series of other achievements, has added a sparkle to the company's Diamond Jubilee celebration.

According to an Equity casting notice, the musical version of The First Wives Club might be heading to Broadway in Fall 2015. The musical, which premiered at San Diego's Old Globe in 2009, is set to get a pre-Broadway run at Chicago's Oriental Theatre, opening February 16, 2015. The production will be directed by Simon Phillips and choreographed by David Connolly.

Melbourne Theatre Company has announced the appointment of four Assistant Directors for Season 2014. Tanya Dickson will work on Private Lives, Kat Henry on The Speechmaker, Kim Hardwick on Ghosts and John Kachoyan on Pennsylvania Avenue, joining the company as part of MTC's paid Assistant Directors Program for emerging or mid-career artists.
