The Little Orchestra Society is reaching out to fellow New Yorkers to help craft its new name. Long time fans of the Orchestra and new enthusiasts alike will have the opportunity to submit their favorite names for an institution beloved by generations of concert-goers. Today through March 9th, music lovers are invited to visit the Orchestra's website: littleorchestra.org, and recommend a new name for an Orchestra known for its audience engagement, inclusive educational mission and commitment to innovative music and multi-disciplinary performances. The Orchestra's new name will be announced later this year.

Bay City Players, Michigan's oldest continuously operating community theatre, will open its 97th season with Stephen Sondheim's Company next autumn, and close with family favorite The Sound of Music in spring 2015. In between, playgoers will be entertained with a unique interpretation of the holiday favorite Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, the classic American comedy You Can't Take It With You, and the 2013 Tony Award winning comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, written originally for David Hyde Pierce and Sigourney Weaver.

A few years back, The Flea purchased a building at 20 Thomas Street, four blocks south of their current location, with seed money from their Board of Directors and State and City funding. Now they have raised 95% of the funds needed to build a brand new state of the art three theater performing arts complex. The new Flea complex will allow them to continue to produce daring and adventurous theater all the while ensuring a permanent and stable home for the off-off-Broadway company. A Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new building project will take place today, December 5 featuring city officials as well as Flea artists, supporters and invited friends.
