Lynne Meadow and Barry Grove have announced casting for Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming world premiere of LOST LAKE, the new play by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner David Auburn, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan. The play will feature Oscar nominee John Hawkes (The Sessions, Winter's Bone) and Tracie Thoms (Rent, "Cold Case").
Christopher Durang was the talk of 2013 because of his gloomy new comedy VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE. Following a successful 2012 World Premiere in New Jersey, the show moved Off-Broadway before transitioning to Broadway and earned numerous award nominations, a handful of awards, and many positive reviews. When the Alley Theatre announced the show for this season, anticipation was high. Sadly, Houston audiences aren't quite getting the show they expected.

For this production, Martin was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Director and an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Director. The Old Globe today announced the creative team of Christopher Durang's Tony Award-winning farce Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which will be directed by Jessica Stone. Stone, who is a frequent collaborator with Old Globe Associate Artist Nicholas Martin, will base this production on his Tony-nominated Broadway direction. Martin had been previously announced to return to San Diego to direct but had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will run May 17 - June 22, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run May 17 - 21. Opening night is May 22 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by subscription only. The United Palace Theatre and UPCA (United Palace of Cultural Arts) will feature a 30th Anniversary screening of Ivan Reitman's classic comedy GHOSTBUSTERS, as part of it's new 'Sunday Movies at the Palace' screening series, curated and hosted by Tony and Grammy Award-winning performer/writer Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) on March 23rd. Stage show begins at 5:00 followed by the screening at 5:30.
