Joe's Pub at The Public announces the new class of Joe's Pub Working Group (JPWG), formerly known as "Pub Club," the venue's artist development program dedicated to enhancing the career sustainability and growth of performing artists.

Tony Award-winner Boyd Gaines (Gypsy, Contact, and She Loves Me) is set to star opposite Emmy and Tony Award-winner Debra Monk (Curtains, ABC's Grey's Anatomy and NYPD Blue) in the world premiere of Mrs. Miller Does Her Thing written and directed by Pulitzer Prize winner James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods).

Long Wharf Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Joshua Borenstein, present the world premiere of Napoli, Brooklyn by Meghan Kennedy, directed by Edelstein.

The producers of the new musical Bandstand, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton) and featuring music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, have just announced compete casting and an award-winning design team.

Christine Scarfuto is the Long Wharf Theatre's literary manager and resident dramaturg. Never heard of that position? 'It's a pretty fascinating job,' she says, one that she discovered after being in college for a while. Her job at the Long Wharf Theatre includes providing articles about the play and/or playwright for the already impressive programs that are designed by graphic artist Claire Zoghb, and for setting up the lobby displays.

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's 2017 season will take patrons on a whirlwind adventure, from a Disney musical revue and a classic New York City love story to favorite hair bands of the 1980s and presidential assassinations.

David Mirvish will present the national tour of Sam Mendes (Spectre, American Beauty) and Rob Marshall's (Into the Woods and Chicago, the films) Tony Award-winning production of CABARET. CABARET will play a strictly one-week engagement, February 14 - 19 at the Princess of Wales Theatre.

This summer, Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop) will produce PIPELINE, a new play by Dominique Morisseau.  PIPELINE, which will be directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, will begin performances Thursday, June 15 and open on Monday, July 10 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).

The New Group presents the world premiere of All the Fine Boys, a new play from writer and director Erica Schmidt, featuring Abigail Breslin, Isabelle Fuhrman, Joe Tippett and Alex Wolff.

Casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the world premiere Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director; James Houghton, Founder) production of Wakey, Wakey, written and directed by Lucille Lortel and Obie Award-winner Will Eno. Eno is a Residency Five playwright at Signature.

The Wick Theatre will present the timeless and groundbreaking 1957 Broadway smash, West Side Story. This season's most requested production has already been extended and will run January 12 - February 26, 2017. The gala opening night is set for Saturday, January 14.

Katori Hall's Olivier Award-winning play, The Mountaintop, kicks off 2017 at Trinity Repertory Company and continues the 53rd season, Ghosts of the Past, Dreams of the Future.

Westport Country Playhouse continues its commitment to developing new plays and musicals with its New Works Initiative set for January and February.

The Drama Book Shop will welcome acclaimed playwright Greg Pierce (Slowgirl, Her Requiem) and three-time Tony Award-winning composer John Kander (Chicago, Cabaret, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, The Visit) for a discussion with playwright and Drama Book Shop Events Manager Steven Carl McCasland (Little Wars) about their new musical, Kid Victory, opening at The Vineyard Theatre in February.

Jacqueline E. Lawton's new political thriller Intelligence makes its world premiere at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Under the direction of Daniella Topol (Round House's Ironbound), Intelligence explores the cost of deception and the consequences of speaking truth to power. Due to popular demand, the production has been extended for one week with eight additional performances and will run February 24-April 9, 2017 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle.

The global phenomenon seen by over 60 million people all around the world and one of Broadway's longest running hits, MAMMA MIA!, kicks off Marriott Theatre's 2017 Season, running February 8 through April 2, 2017 with a press opening on February 15 at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire.

WaterTower Theatre today announced details for the third annual WOMEN IN THEATRE panel discussion.  The event is presented under the auspices of Women of WaterTower Theatre (WOW!) and it is chaired by Jennifer Martinez.  This is the third panel in the series, having already explored the unique perspective of prominent female directors and actors, 2017 will feature The Designers, and it will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm (with a post-lecture reception in the lobby with the artists). The event will be held in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre.  The lecture will be moderated by Dallas arts journalist Lauren Smart, and features Leann Burns, Clare Floyd DeVries, Sylvia Fuhrken Marrs, and Frida Espinosa-Muller.
