From its beginnings as a street performance in the UK, STOMP has grown into an international sensation over the past 20 years, having performed in more than 50 countries and in front of more than 24 million people. Previews will begin on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, with an opening set for Sunday, December 6. Based on the smash hit 2003 film of the same title, School of Rock will feature music from the movie, as well as new music written byAndrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, with a book by Julian Fellowes. School of Rock-The Musical will be directed by Laurence Connor (currently represented on Broadway by Les Miserables).

It's been rumored since early in the new production's run -- and now it's official! Original star John Cameron Mitchell will return to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and The Angry Inch, which they debuted in the 1998 hit Off-Broadway production. Mitchell will step into the role on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre starting Wednesday, January 21 for a strictly limited eight week engagement. Mitchell will join co-star and Tony Award winner Lena Hall who continues with the production as Yitzhak.
The Shubert Organization has completed an agreement to acquire New World Stages, a complex of five off-Broadway playhouses located at 340 West 50th Street. All currently running productions at New World Stages, Avenue Q, Gazillion Bubble Show, Blank! The Musical, and iLuminate will continue under the agreement. The five theatres at New World Stages range in size from 199 to 499 seats.
