Imagine Productions Presents DREAMGIRLS, Running Now thru 3/8

Imagine Productions of Columbus will present Dreamgirls, Book and Lyrics by Tom Eyer, Music by Henry Krieger, Original Broadway Production Directed and Choreographed by Michael Bennett, Produced on Broadway by Michael Bennett, Robert Avian, Geffen Records and The Shubert Organization from February 20 - March 8, 2015 at Wall Street Night Club. DIRTY DANCING Tour to Run 3/24-4/5 at Academy of Music

Tickets for the Philadelphia premiere of Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage are now on sale. The staged musical of this worldwide smash-hit film will play for a two-week engagement at the Academy of Music from March 24 through April 5, as part of Broadway Philadelphia, presented collaboratively by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Shubert Organization. The press opening is Tuesday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m.

BREAKING NEWS: And the Next HEDWIG is... Darren Criss!

The breakout star of GLEE, HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS and more - Darren Criss will return to Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the Tony Award winning Best Musical Revival, for a limited 12-week engagement starting Wednesday, April 29 at the Belasco Theatre.

Michael C. Hall Covers HEDWIG for John Cameron Mitchell Starting Tonight

Golden Globe and Drama Desk Award winner Michael C. Hall will return to Hedwig and the Angry Inch from tonight, February 17 - Saturday, February 21. John Cameron Mitchell will continue in the show through Saturday, February 14 and will then take a one week leave to attend to a knee injury. John will return as 'Hedwig' on Tuesday, February 24 through Sunday, April 26.

Leapin' Lizards! New ANNIE National Tour to Arrive in Philadelphia, 3/17-22

Broadway Philadelphia is proud to announce that the new U.S. National Tour of ANNIE will play March 17 through 22 at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. Directed by original lyricist and director Martin Charnin for the 19th time, this production of ANNIE will be a brand new physical incarnation of the iconic Tony Award-winning original. Broadway Philadelphia is presented collaboratively by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Shubert Organization. The press opening is Tues. March 17 at 7:30 pm.

As BroadwayWorld reported on Saturday, John Cameron Mitchell, who recently returned to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, injured his knee during the production's early show on Saturday night. He completed the performance, but was unable to perform the 10PM late show, as audience members were told when arriving. UPDATE: BroadwayWorld had just learned that the star will officially reurn to the show tonight for the scheduled 8PM performance.

Toronto's ONCE Begins Tonight with All-Canadian Cast

The Toronto production of the Tony Award-winning 'Best Musical' ONCE recently extended performances through May 31, 2015. Performances for ONCE begin tonight, February 10 at the Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto. Press night for ONCE is Sunday February 22 at 2PM

John Cameron Mitchell Injures Knee Mid-Performance, Forcing HEDWIG to Cancel Saturday's Late Show

John Cameron Mitchell, who recently returned to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch, injured his knee during the production's early show on Saturday night. He completed the performance, but was unable to perform the 10PM late show, as audience members were told when arriving for the show. A production source tells us that the star was headed to the doctor last night, and we will share further updates as we can.

John Cameron Mitchell, who recently returned to the role he co-created with composer/lyricist Stephen Trask in their musical Hedwig and The Angry Inch, has extended his run in the acclaimed production by six weeks at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) due to popular demand. Tickets for Mitchell's run are now on sale through Sunday, April 26.

Tickets to Disney's THE LION KING at the Academy of Music on Sale Tomorrow

Theatrical Productions and Broadway Philadelphia announced today that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of Disney's THE LION KING will go on sale to the public on Friday, February 6 at 10:00 a.m. Philadelphia's most eagerly awaited return will once again leap onto the Academy of Music stage on May 20 for a limited engagement of four weeks through June 14.The press opening night is Thursday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m. Broadway Philadelphia is presented collaboratively by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Shubert Organization.

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME Recoups Broadway Investment

The producers of the critically acclaimed new play THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME have announced that the Broadway production has officially recouped its $4.75 million capitalization, following the week ending January 25, 2015. Written by Simon Stephens, adapted from Mark Haddon's best-selling novel, and directed by Tony Award-winner Marianne Elliott, the play began preview performances on September 20, 2014 and opened to rave reviews on October 5, 2014. The production plays at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street).

Jim Dale Hosts Tonight's 2015 Theater Hall of Fame Gala, Honoring Susan Stroman, F. Murray Abraham and More

The 44th annual Theater Hall of Fame gala and induction ceremony will be held tonight, January 26, at the Gershwin Theater, honoring director/choreographer Susan Stroman, actors F. Murray Abraham, Alvin Epstein and Blythe Danner, former theatre critic Frank Rich, chairman of the Shubert Organization Philip J. Smith, playwright Alfred Uhry and director Marshall W. Mason.
