Victory Gardens Theater Announces Casting And Events For The 11th Anniversary IGNITION Festival of New Plays 

Victory Gardens Theater Artistic Director Chay Yew, Executive Director Erica Daniels and Director of New Play Development Skyler Gray announce the lineup for the 11th Anniversary IGNITION Festival of New Plays, including The Tasters by Meghan Brown; The Gradient by Steph Del Rosso; [hieroglyph] by Erika Dickerson-Despenza; #NEWSLAVES by Keelay Gipson; Reckoning: Furies from a New Queer Nation by Geraldine Inoa; and They Could Give No Name by Exal Iraheta. The 2019 Festival runs August 2 -4, 2019 at Victory Gardens Theater, located at 2433 N Lincoln Avenue.

Amazon Studios to Receive Visionary Award at the 2019 GLSEN Respect Awards

GLSEN, the leading education organization working to create safe and inclusive K-12 schools for LGBTQ youth, is pleased to announce that it will honor Amazon Studios with the Visionary Award at the 2019 GLSEN Respect Awards – Los Angeles.  Amazon Studios Chief Jennifer Salke will accept the award on behalf of the organization.  As previously announced, Apple CEO Tim Cook will receive the Champion Award.

HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER To Conclude with Sixth Season

ABC announced today that the upcoming sixth season of “How to Get Away with Murder” will be its last. The series, which has been a constant in ABC's TGIT programming block since its debut on Sept. 25, 2014, will return THURSDAY, SEPT. 26 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT). This season follows Professor Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) class through their final semester in law school – while the deception, fear and guilt binding Professor Keating to her students prove deadlier than ever.

Geraldine Inoa's SCRAPS to Make West Coast Premiere

What we never see - how loved ones struggle to cope in the aftermath.The Matrix Theatre Company presents theWest Coast premiere of a daring new play from a significant emerging voice in theater. Scraps, written by Geraldine Inoa and directed by 2019 Obie Award winner Stevie Walker-Webb, opens at the Matrix Theatre onJuly 6, with previews beginning June 27. 

THE WHITE DRESS to Begin Previews July 5 at Access Theater

THE WHITE DRESS, written by Roger Q. Mason and directed and choreographed by Adin Walker will have a limited engagement Summer run, July 5-20 at the Access Theater, 380 Broadway. Based on the playwright's true-life experience, this is a genderqueer coming-of-age tale for the they/them generation.

Cast Of WHAT YOU ARE Announced At The Old Globe

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of What You Are, a Globe-commissioned new play by JC Lee and the second show in the 2018-2019 Season developed in the Powers New Voices Festival. Directed by Patricia McGregor, What You Are will run May 30 - June 30, 2019 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run May 30 - June 5. Opening night is Thursday, June 6 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale now. ABC Renews GREY'S ANATOMY, STATION 19, HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER

ABC has renewed record-breaking series “Grey's Anatomy” for two additional seasons (Seasons 16 and 17). In addition, ABC has renewed “Station 19” for a third season and “How to Get Away with Murder” for a sixth season. Executive producer and showrunner Krista Vernoff will helm both “Grey's Anatomy” and “Station 19,” giving fans two hours of feels on Thursdays and providing a seamless crossover narrative on both series.

Wilson Cruz To Host 2019 Glsen Respect Awards

GLSEN, the leading education organization working to create safe and inclusive K-12 schools for LGBTQ youth, today announced that actor, Wilson Cruz will host the 2019 GLSEN Respect Awards - New York.  Additionally, the annual event will honor Ace Schwarz as Educator of the Year and Loveless Academic Magnet Program (LAMP) High School GSA, Spectrum as GSA of the Year.

MAMA METAL Set for Run at IAMA Theatre Company

ABC Announces GREY'S ANATOMY and STATION 19 Crossover Event

Worlds will collide in Seattle once again, as ABC is set to air a TGIT crossover event on Thursday, May 2, featuring all-new episodes of “Grey's Anatomy” and “Station 19” from 8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT.

GLSEN To Honor Brendon Urie at 2019 GLSEN Respect Awards

GLSEN, the leading education organization working to create safe and inclusive K-12 schools for LGBTQ youth, announced today that it will honor Brendon Urie, front man of the band Panic! at the Disco, with the Inspiration Award for his ongoing commitment to LGBTQ youth and for investing in the power of students to create more inclusive schools. Urie will be presented with the Inspiration Award at the upcoming 2019 GLSEN Respect Awards – New York, on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Cipriani 42nd Street.

BLACK PANTHER Leads Nominations for the NAACP IMAGE AWARDS

The nominees for the 50th NAACP Image Awards were exclusively announced today at the Television Critics Association's (TCA) TV One's joint press conference with Derrick Johnson, President and CEO of the NAACP and Alfred Liggins, Chairman and CEO of TV One. IAMA/Latino Theater Company Presents the World Premiere Of Jonathan Caren's CANYON

IAMA Theatre Company partners with the Latino Theater Company to bring the world premiere of Canyon by Jonathan Caren (The Recommendation, Need To Know) to The Los Angeles Theatre Center. Rep Stage, the professional regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), continues its 26th season with "Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992," written by Anna Deavere Smith and directed by Paige Hernandez. Anna Deavere Smith's stunning play explores the people who experienced the Los Angeles riots and the devastating human impact of that event. From nine months of interviews with more than 200 people, Smith chose voices that best reflect the diversity and tension of a city in turmoil, all portrayed by one actress in a tour-de-force performance. A work that goes directly to the heart of the issues of race and class, "Twilight" ruthlessly probes the language and the lives of its subjects, offering stark insight into the complex and pressing social, economic, and political issues that fueled the flames in the wake of the Rodney King verdict.
