Set in the lower depths of 1860s Paris, THERESE is a tale of obsessive love, adultery and revenge based on Emile Zola's scandalous novel, Thérèse Raquin. Therese (Elizabeth Olsen of 'Martha Marcy May Marlene'), a sexually repressed beautiful young woman, is trapped into a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin, Camille (Tom Felton of the 'Harry Potter' franchise), by her domineering aunt, Madame Raquin (two-time Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jessica Lange). Therese spends her days confined behind the counter of a small shop and her evenings watching Madame play dominos with an eclectic group. After she meets her husband's alluring friend, Laurent (Oscar Isaac), she embarks on an illicit affair that leads to tragic consequences.

Beginning this fall, ENCORE will present 'The Big Miniseries Showcase,' a mix of classic and new critically acclaimed miniseries on Monday nights at 8pm ET/PT. The slate will debut with the U.S. television premiere of the ENCORE Original miniseries, 'The Crimson Petal and the White.' The BAFTA nominated two-part drama will premiere on Monday, September 10 and Tuesday, September 11 at 8pm ET/PT.

In a special, one night only movie event, Syfy presents a fresh, new spin on the classic tale, TREASURE ISLAND, featuring an all-star cast led by Eddie Izzard, Elijah Wood and Donald Sutherland. Robert Louis Stevenson's swashbuckling adventure story about fantastical treasure, youthful courage and murderous greed premieres tonight, Saturday, May 5 from 7-11PM (ET/PT) on Syfy.

ENCORE is set to debut Original award-winning series 'The Crimson Petal and The White,' a four part miniseries adapted from Michel Faber's Bestselling novel (2002).Part one and two of the sweeping and gritty epic will air exclusively on ENCORE Friday, March 6th beginning at 9 PM et/pt, with its concluding parts three and four airing Saturday, March 7th at 9 PM et/pt.
