Jane Austen's SENSE AND SENSIBILITY Opens South Coast Repertory's 55th Season

Southern California audiences will be able to get lost in Jane Austen's elegant, Regency era romantic classic, Sense and Sensibility, next month. The production opens South Coast Repertory's 55th season. British playwright Jessica Swale adapted Austen's story and the show is directed by Casey Stangl on the Segerstrom Stage, Sept. 1-29.

Stars Rally Together Again for Stand Up To Cancer's Live Broadcast on 9/7

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a division of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), is proud to announce that the Hollywood community is rallying together yet again to support the sixth biennial televised fundraising special on Friday, Sept. 7 (8:00–9:00 p.m. EDT/PDT and 7:00–8:00 p.m. CDT). Mahershala Ali, Kathy Bates, Katie Couric, Jennifer Garner, Tony Hale, Marg Helgenberger, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Marlee Matlin, Matthew McConaughey, Maria Menounos, Jillian Michaels, Trevor Noah, Dak Prescott, Italia Ricci, Rob Riggle, Karla Souza, David Spade, Keith Urban and Reese Witherspoon will participate in this memorable event – marking 10 years since the first telecast and 10 years of SU2C's lifesaving research achievements. Additional stars and performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

HOLY GHOSTS Returns To the New York Stage After 40 Years

Theatre East'sTenth Season kicks off with Romulus Linney's masterful play, Holy Ghosts after a 40-year absence from the New York Stage. Set in present-day rural Tennessee, a group of broken, Pentecostal outcasts find solace, understanding, and strength in one another as they wrestle with their own serpents and discover their divinity. The production will run at Urban Stages, 259 West 30th Street, from Friday, September 21st through Saturday, October 6th. 

STAND UP TO CANCER Returns with Reese Witherspoon, Matthew McConaughey, and More Stars Rallying Together on September 7th

Stand Up To Cancer Canada (SU2C Canada), a Canadian registered charity, is proud to announce the Hollywood community is once again joining forces to support Stand Up To Cancer's sixth biennial televised fundraising special, the third inclusive of Canada, on Friday, Sept. 7 (8:00 9:00 PM ET/PT / 7:00 PM CT). Mahershala Ali, Kathy Bates, Katie Couric, Jennifer Garner, Tony Hale, Marg Helgenberger, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Marlee Matlin, Matthew McConaughey, Maria Menounos, Jillian Michaels, Trevor Noah, Dak Prescott, Rob Riggle, Karla Souza, David Spade, Keith Urban, Reese Witherspoon and Canadian Italia Ricci will participate in this memorable event marking 10 years since the first telecast and 10 years of SU2C's lifesaving research achievements and four years after the launch of Stand Up To Cancer Canada. 2019 Broadway Concert Series Announced At Aventura Arts & Cultural Center

Five of Broadway's brightest stars are coming to Aventura Arts & Cultural Center as part of the 2019 Broadway Concert Series and fans purchasing an early bird subscription for all four shows by October 5, 2018 will receive 15 percent off single ticket prices for appearances by: Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner; Faith Prince; Jeremy Jordan; and John Lloyd Young. Tickets to individual concerts in the series are $45-$49 with $75 VIP tickets that include meeting the artist.

THE LION KING'S JD McCrary Signs to Hollywood Records

 Hollywood Records have signed 11-year-old JD McCrary to an exclusive recording deal. McCrary, who is the youngest artist to ever be signed to the label, will play the role of Young Simba in the highly anticipated live action remake of The Lion King, due for release in 2019, alongside Donald Glover and Beyoncé.

Violist Richard Yongjae O'Neill, Artist In Residence to Perform At The Broad Stage

The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents three concerts with violist Richard Yongjae O'Neill, its artist in residence.  O'Neill will lead three programs - on Saturday September 8, he performs Schubert and Beethoven in a program title Homage with the Ehnes Quartet; on Sunday, March 3 he performs a program of British composers -- Britten, Bowen, Bridge, Carter and Clarke with pianist Steven Lin; and he closes with a program called L.A. Masters with works by Stravinsky, Schoenberg and Brahms with Jennifer Frautschi (violin), Jesse Mills (violin), Fred Sherry (cello), and Orion Weiss (piano).

MOVIN' ON UP 2018 Is Coming to The CBC!

Staircase Theatre is proud to announce our 4th edition of Movin' On Up: Staged Readings of intelligent, contemporary, raucous plays. It's a live reading of two, brand new, one-act plays- a celebration of emerging, local playwrights and an artistic investigation into the intersection and interaction of Vancouver's privileged and underprivileged citizens. This year's playwrights, Sabrina Auclair and Brahm Taylor hit close to home. The plays have received dramaturgy by Sherry MacDonald, will be directed by Mika Laulainen and will feature the acting talents of Tina Teeninga, Veenu Sandhu, Lara Amelie Abadir, Nicola Whitney-Griffiths, Corina Akeson and Xander Williams. Movin' On Up will have a silent auction (with proceeds going to Staircase Theatre), a bar, snacks and will be shakin' down at CBC 700 on August 25, 2018.

ROUGH TRADE: Art And Sex Work In The Late 20th Century Opens 8/2

ClampArt and Ward 5B are proud to present 'Rough Trade: Art and Sex Work in the late 20th Century.' The exhibition explores a little-known history at the crossroads of the sexual underground and popular culture. The show is organized to coincide with "David Wojnarowicz: History Keeps Me Awake at Night" at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and includes work by David Wojnarowicz, along with John S.
