8 - 11 November, Pontine Theatre kicks off it's 41st Season at its new performance venue, The Plains School, located at One Plains Avenue in Portsmouth's West End. The newly renovated Plains School, a collaboration between Pontine Theatre and the City of Portsmouth, is fully accessible with convenient free parking adjacent. Just in time for the holidays, on November 29th the Provincetown Theater (238 Bradford Street in Provincetown, MA) is set to open its final major offering of the 2018 season, the joyous musical memoir Always… Patsy Cline. Based on a true story, and featuring 27 hit songs from the legendary star, Always… Patsy Cline* follows the special friendship between the country-music icon and her devoted fan Louise Seger, who became a longtime pen pal and trusted confidante of Patsy. The production, running thru December 16th, stars Julia Salinger (from The Laramie Project) as Louise, and Laura Cappello (from You Can't Take It with You) returning to the title role - which, when she performed it on Cape Cod several years ago, the Cape Cod Times raved "Laura Cappello IS Patsy Cline." In Provincetown, it will be directed by David Drake, with musical direction from John Thomas, who'll head up the band.
