Encompass New Opera Theatre held a gala to honor legendary Broadway performer BARBARA COOK and lyricist LEE ADAMS (Bye Bye Birdie, Golden Boy, Applause) with a star-studded musical salute on Sunday, October 25. BroadwayWorld has photos from the evening below!

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Broadway's Matt Scott, who was last seen by Goodspeed audiences in the 2013 production of SNAPSHOTS at The Norma Terris Theatre, will assume the role of 'Sam Wainwright' for the remainder of the run of A WONDERFUL LIFE at Goodspeed Opera House through December 6th.

Events marking the return of Fiddler on the Roof to Broadway are not in short supply this fall at The Museum at Eldridge Street. This Sunday, November 1st, come join author and Columbia University Professor Alisa Solomon for a fascinating talk and a real treat. Solomon provides an inside look at the talented team who clashed, collaborated, and created this most celebrated of shows and explores how a story about shtetl life became a musical with worldwide appeal.

The Fred Ebb Foundation in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company will present the eleventh annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Stacey Luftig and Phillip Palmer.  The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by Karen Ziemba on Monday, November 30th from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.

The upcoming Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof will begin performances on Friday, November 20, 2015, with an official opening night on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway). It will star Danny Burstein as Tevye, Jessica Hecht as Golde, Adam Dannheisser as Lazar Wolf, Adam Kantor as Motel, Alix Korey as Yente,Samantha Massell as Hodel, Melanie Moore as Chava, Ben Rappaport as Perchik, Nick Rehberger as Fyedka, Alexandra Silber as Tzeitel and more. The York Theatre Company has announced today Broadway's Klea Blackhurst (York's Call Me Madame) Mario Cantone (Assassins), Erin Davie (York's Silk Stockings, Side Show), Matt McGrath (Nice Work If You Can Get It), and Mary Louise Wilson (On the Twentieth Century), along with the acclaimed Yale Wiffenpoofs, have joined the roster of illustrious special guest performers who will gather to honor Broadway and Hollywood legend Angela Lansbury at 2015 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Guastavino's (409 East 59th Street).

It was 20 years ago when Sarah Jessica Parker starred Off-Broadway in A.R. Gurney's off-beat comedy about a man and his dog, SLYVIA. Just last night her hubby Matthew Broderick had the honor of opening in SLYVIA on Broadway, joined by Annaleigh Ashford as Sylvia, with Julie White and Robert Sella. The Jewish Channel will continue its second season of its popular theater-oriented monthly TV show, ROW J, beginning today, October 28. ROW J is hosted by TJC correspondent Meredith Ganzman. The executive producer is Brian Scott Lipton.

Grammy and Emmy Award-winner Joe Raposo and Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Sheldon Harnick's uplifting musical A WONDERFUL LIFE reminds us how one person's life can touch that of so many others. Based on the beloved 1946 holiday movie classic, this charming musical is sure to inspire and entertain. Just announced, A WONDERFUL LIFE will now play eight additional performances through Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn.

Original cast members from the 1970 Broadway production of THE ROTHSCHILDS gathered together to visit the York Theatre Company's current production of ROTHSCHILD & SONS, an intimate one-act reimagining of the nine-time Tony-nominated musical with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and book by Sherman Yellen, presented in association with Arnold Mittelman and the National Jewish Theater Foundation. After successful shows at Judy's Chelsea and Don't Tell Mama, Jennifer Roberts is back to celebrate her love for Manhattan with her show at New York hotspot Don't Tell Mama (343 West 46th St., New York, NY) on November 20, 2015 at 7 p.m.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Roundabout Theatre Company has set new dates for the upcoming starry musical She Loves Me. Preview performances will begin on February 19, 2016 and with the official opening on March 17, 2016. This is a limited engagement through June 5, 2016 at Studio 54 on Broadway (254 West 54th Street).
