DR. SEUSS'S THE LORAX Begins Performances at The Old Globe This Month

The Old Globe, together with Children's Theatre Company (CTC), and in partnership with The Old Vic, today updated information for Dr. Seuss's The Lorax in its U.S. premiere. The production, based on the book The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, is adapted for the stage by David Greig (Artistic Director of Royal Lyceum Theatre Company; recent work: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Cover My Tracks) with music and lyrics written by Charlie Fink (front man/songwriter for the hit musical group Noah and the Whale, 2007-2015).

GULLIVER RETURNS Comes to Edinburgh Fringe 18

Inspired by Jonathan Swift's savage masterpiece Gulliver's Travels, Gulliver Returns is a haunting new play about broken dreams and enduring love. Raging, tragic and magical, it digs deep into the heart of Swift's sweeping epic to reveal the story of a grieving couple trying to put themselves back together in a world that's tearing itself apart.

HARRY POTTER's Mark Williams To Play DOCTOR DOLITTLE at First Ten Venues Of UK & Ireland Tour

Mark Williams, star of The Fast Show, Father Brown, 101 Dalmatians, The Borrowers, Shakespeare in Love and seven of the Harry Potter films, will star as Doctor Dolittle at the first ten venues of the new UK & Ireland Tour of Doctor Dolittle, with book, music and lyrics by double Academy Award-winner Leslie Bricusse.  Featuring stunning visual puppetry, this new production, with the book reworked by Leslie Bricusse, will be part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the original film starring Rex Harrison and will feature the same songs, including the Academy Award-winning Talk To The Animals. 

Peninsula Players Announces 2018 Artistic Company

Peninsula Players Theatre, America's Oldest Professional Resident Summer Theatre and Door County's theatrical icon, opens its 83rd season June 12 with the world premiere of "Now and Then" by Sean Grennan, a new comedy-drama that is performing through July 1.

Aurora Theatre Company presents the Bay Area premiere of DRY POWDER, the razor-sharp and whip-smart comedy by Sarah Burgess that skewers the world of high finance. Jennifer King directs the recent New York hit that features Aldo Billingslea (Collapse), Emily Jeanne Brown, Jeremy Kahn (Wittenberg) and Kevin Kemp (Luna Gale).

Barefoot Shakespeare Company and Occupy Verona Presents ALL ONE FOREST

Barefoot Shakespeare Company ?and Occupy Verona ?are teaming up for "She Doth Persist," a season celebrating feminism and activism. First up is All One Forest, a new play that explores what happens when famous characters from Shakespeare's plays meet each other outside of their stories. All performances will be held at Summit Rock in Central Park and admission is free.

Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Presents New Adaptation Of HENRY VI

Over the past three seasons, the Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company has been making its way through Shakespeare's history plays. Since 2015, the company has performed Richard II, a conflation of the two parts of Henry IV, and Henry V. Now the company is tackling Henry VI, Shakespeare's epic story of the Wars of the Roses, which the playwright wrote in three full-length plays. Director David Little and company executive director Katherine Mayberry, who serves as dramaturge for this production, have created a script that combines sections of all three parts of Henry VI into a single production. The production will also include original music, performed by a Balladeer character who helps to guide the audience through the story. Musical composition is by actor Scott Lange, who also plays the Balladeer.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Presents Free Shakespeare On The Common

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler, presents its 23rd season of "Free Shakespeare on the Common:" William Shakespeare's drama Richard III, directed by Steven Maler and starring Faran Tahir. Performances are free of charge, and will take place on the Boston Common, near the Parkman Bandstand.

Full Casting Announced For The World Première Of Alexis Zegerman's HOLY SH!T

Artistic Director of Kiln Theatre, Indhu Rubasingham, today announces the cast for her production of Alexis Zegerman's Holy Sh!t - Daon Broni (Nick), Claire Goose (Juliet), Daniel Lapaine (Sam) and Dorothea Myer-Bennett (Simone). This world premiere production is the first in the newly refurbished Kiln Theatre, reopening after a major capital redevelopment project with press night on 10 September, previews from 5 September, and running until 6 October.

Meme García To Perform New Version Of Solo Show House Of Sueños At 18th & Union

This month Seattle-based theatre artist Meme Garcia will perform a new version of her evocative solo show House of Sueños at 18th & Union. A story of the construction and deconstruction of a house that is full of memories, family, and Shakespeare, House of Sueños was previously produced by Wyrd Sisters Productions at 18th & Union in November 2017.  Wiley Basho Gorn returns to direct, having previously collaborated with Garcia on last fall's successful sold-out run. Performances begin on June 15 and run through June 24 at 18th and Union (1406 18th Avenue) in the Central District. Tickets are on sale now at www.18thandunion.org.

Tru Voices 2018 Play Reading Series Features Emotionally Charged New Play JASPER

Boz and the Bard Productions, Inc., in association with Adelaide Raleigh Productions, LLC, is excited to present the staged reading of a new play by Grant MacDermott called Jasper. Bay Street Theater's FROST/NIXON is Now in Rehearsal

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the cast of FROST/ NIXON, the second production of 2018 Mainstage Season, is now in rehearsal in NYC.
