Seattle Theatre Group (STG) and Seattle Public Library host a lively conversation about the role of media in politics from the 1977 interview of President Richard Nixon by British talk show host David Frost to the 2008 interview of Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin by CBS anchor Katie Couric. The discussion will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm at Seattle's Downtown Library. Local political media and academics participating include: Lynne Varner from The Seattle Times and Knute Berger from Crosscut.com (and former Seattle Weekly reporter), and Mark Smith a University of Washington Political Science Professor moderated by KUOW Weekday host Steve Scher. Tonight, September 30th the first performance of the national Frost/Nixon tour will begin in Des Moines, IA The 2007 Tony Award® -nominated new play by Peter Morgan, the award-winning author of The Last King of Scotland and The Queen, will run at the Des Moines Civic Center through October 5th.
