ABC announced today that comedian Seth MacFarlane, a two-time Emmy-award winner for his Family Guy series, will host the 85th Academy Awards on February 24. The show's producers accompanied the announcement with an unconventional YouTube video, in which MacFarlane tells his father his exciting news. Check out the clip below!

Seth McFarlane has been tapped to host the 85th Academy Awards, telecast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today. This will be MacFarlane's first appearance on Oscar's stage. The 85th Academy Awards will be held on Oscar Sunday, Feb 24 on the ABC television network, and will air live.

The National Symphony Orchestra Pops today announced that Megan Hilty, known nationwide as triple-threat Ivy Lynn on NBC's hit Smash, will perform with the Orchestra November 23-24, 2012 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Ms. Hilty will perform three concerts paying tribute to the music of Frank Sinatra, as well as the Rat Pack, Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James. The performances will be led by NSO Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke.
