Second Stage Theatre continues its 2007-2008 with the new musical Next to Normal, featuring Alice Ripley, Brian d'Arcy James, Adam Chanler-Berat, Jennifer Damiano, Asa Somers, and Aaron Tveit. With music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, and direction by two-time Tony nominee Michael Greif. Next to Normal will officially open on February 13, 2008 at Second Stage Theatre

On Monday, February 4, The Second Stage Theatre held its 21st Annual All-Star Bowling Classic at Leisure Time Bowling Lanes in the Port Authority, New York City.

Sp Theatre Productions is pleased to announce that Jocelyn Sawyer, former Playwrights Horizons' directing resident and Lincoln Center Director's Lab member will be taking over the helm of Still Lives, a new play written by Paul Hancock. Previously announced director Kareem Fahmy unexpectedly left the production after he received a Van Lier Directing Fellowship with Second Stage Theatre.

After running for three years in New York City, the musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee plays its final Broadway performance today, Sunday, January 20, 2008 at Circle in the Square Theatre

'Homecoming' is the theme of Barrington Stage Company's 14th Season. The theatre that developed and premiered William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin's The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on its Stage II in 2004 welcomes home the award-winning Broadway hit to its Mainstage from June 11 through July 12. Long-time BSC director Rob Ruggiero returns to direct Richard Greenberg's The Violet Hour, which will play July 17 through August 2. Julianne Boyd will direct Noel Coward's delicious battle-of-the-sexes comedy Private Lives starring Christopher Innvar from August 7 through 24. Private Lives marks the fifth stage collaboration between Boyd and Innvar.

Manhattan Theatre Club will present the world premiere of From Up Here, Liz Flahive's new American play. This production is presented in association with Ars Nova. The production, to be directed by Leigh Silverman, will begin previews Thursday, March 27 for a Wednesday, April 16 opening at New York City Center - Stage I

Second Stage Theatre has announced the complete cast for its upcoming musical, Next to Normal. Adam Chandler-Berat, Jennifer Damiano, Asa Somers and Aaron Tveit will join the previously announced Alice Ripley and Brian d'Arcy James.

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation is proud to announce the recipient of the inaugural Denham Fellowship to director May Adrales as the first Denham Fellow and award her $3,000 in support of her production of Faith, Hope, and Charity at PURE Theatre in Charleston, South Carolina.

Second Stage Theatre has announced that Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's new play, Good Boys and True, will be the third production of its current season. Directed by Tony Award-nominee Scott Ellis, Good Boys and True will begin previews in late April and will officially open in mid-May.

The Intentional Theatre Group, in association with Small Pond Entertainment, presents Archipelago, 10 short one-person plays directed by The It Group's Founding Artistic Director, Emerie Snyder. Upon closing, the award-winning musical will have played 1,136 performances and 21 previews on Broadway.

Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry, starring Johanna Day, Bill Pullman and Dallas Roberts officially opens at Second Stage Theatre (307 West 43rd Street) on Sunday, November 11 at 6:30PM; directed by Pam MacKinnon.

The Public Theater will conclude its fall season with the world premiere of David Henry Hwang's new play Yellow Face, directed by Leigh Silverman. A co-production with the Center Theatre Group, this backstage comedy begins previews on Monday, November 19 and will run through Sunday, December 23 with an official press opening on Monday, December 10 at 7 PM.
