Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announces the casts of the upcoming plays in the 2012 TRU Voices New Plays Reading Series. The two plays yet to be presented are Appendage by Derek Murphy, produced by Tweiss Productions (Sharon Weiss & Eileen B. Weiss); and The Sin Eater by Michael Bettencourt, produced by Block & Tackle Productions, Inc. and Elfin Frederick Vogel. The selected plays will be read on Mondays, June 11, and 18 respectively, at 7pm at The Roy Arias Theatre, 300 W. 43rd Street, 5th Floor, Studio 500, NYC. Off-Broadway's Page 73 Productions will present its first "Page 2" presentation of 2012 - a developmental workshop of A THICK DESCRIPTION OF HARRY SMITH (Volume I) by Chicago-based playwright Carlos Murillo (DARK PLAY OR STORIES FOR BOYS) and directed by Kip Fagan (Page 73's JACK'S PRECIOUS MOMENT), with performances June 28 through July 2 at Culture Project (45 Bleecker Street), it has been announced by Page 73's Executive Directors Liz Jones and Asher Richelli.

Westport Country Playhouse will present two Script in Hand play readings this autumn with the classic whodunit, 'Dial ‘M' for Murder,' by Frederick Knott, on Monday, November 14, 7 p.m., and the delightfully touching comedy 'Holiday,' by Philip Barry, on Monday, December 12, 7 p.m. Tickets to the one-night-only events are $15.

Making its Midwest premiere in the birthplace of Alcoholics Anonymous, Bill W. and Dr. Bob is an inspirational, gripping and timely story about the men and their wives whose relationships pioneered the beginning of Alcoholics Anonymous and the creation of Al-Anon.

The award winning Drilling Company proudly presents its 17th collection of short work from emerging writers around a common theme: FREEDOM . The show runs Friday April 24- Sunday May 10th. Westport Country Playhouse (Joanne Woodward and Anne Keefe, artistic directors, Jodi Schoenbrun Carter, managing director) will stage John Steinbeck's classic drama, 'Of Mice and Men,' directed by Mark Lamos. Peformances began October 7th and will run through November 1. Steinbeck won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962 and the Pulitzer Prize for his 1939 novel 'The Grapes of Wrath.' The production will honor the late Paul Newman, who was married to Westport's Artistic Director Joanne Woodward and who participated in many Westport Playhouse productions.

The OBIE, Drama Desk and Lortel Award-winning Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) will present the final show of their 2007/2008 season: EMANCIPATION, a new play by longtime company member and OBIE Award-winner Ty Jones.

The Front Page, by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur, opens the Williamstown Theatre Festival Main Stage on July 4. Set in a Chicago newsroom in the late 1920's, this classic Broadway comedy about the nature of media in society is directed by Ron Daniels.
