Cabaret lovers will have many memories from the Mabel Mercer Foundation's 2019 New York Cabaret Convention. Attendees to all four of the presentations at Rose Theater will no doubt have their favorite music moments from the performances of the more than 75 cabaret artists. However, perhaps the most enduring remembrance will be the remarkable organizational abilities and intelligence of the foundations artistic director, it's face (and hat) of the convention… KT Sullivan. Just imagine how difficult it must be to satisfy the requirements of 75 singers, make their moment in the spotlight as successful as it can be, and cope with the egos that are a necessary part of every performers DNA. All the while fulfilling the sophisticated and knowledgeable audience's expectations of a great show. There were many highs and “almost highs” during the 12 hours of music, and that's what makes it so exciting. Every artist brings their own unique talent to the stage.

Award winning cabaret singer Lucille Carr-Kaffashan recently did a run of shows at Don't Tell Mama in which she looked at the works of some of rock and roll's great male singer songwriters.

It was a spectacular start to the four night 2019 Cabaret Convention at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater Last night.

After two acclaimed performances this past June at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, Dawn Derowbrings back The House That Built Me to The Laurie Beechman Theatre on Sunday, October27th at 1:00 pm and Thursday, November 14that 7:00 pm. Directed by multiple MAC Award- winning director Jeff Harnar, the show features musical direction by Matt Baker with Peter Calo on guitar and Steve Doyle on bass.

Bistro and MAC Hanson Award winning vocalist,Lucille Carr-Kaffashan, returns to Don't Tell Mama this fall with her latest cabaret show, How The Light Gets In. Performances are scheduled on Friday, September 27 at 7 pm, Thursday,October 17 at 7 pm, and Sunday, October 27 at 3:30 pm. Music director Jeff Cubeta on piano and back-up vocals is joined by Sean Harkness on guitar and Matt Scharfglass on bass.

In a combined triumph for the Classic Popular Songbook, its purveyors and adherents, and the professionalism and perseverance of THE MABEL MERCER FOUNDATION, that unique organization presents its 30th Annual New York Cabaret Convention at The Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, beginning Monday, October 28th and running through Thursday, October 31st. The four individual concerts will be offered at 6:00 PM each evening, and more than seventy-five vocalists and musicians are scheduled to perform. Up and coming musical theater writer Josh Franklin debuted 12 songs from 3 musicals in New York to a besotted audience.

The Infinite Joy Cabaret Benefit features Carole Demas (original Sandy in Grease) and Sarah Rice (original Johanna in Sweeney Todd) alongside a talent-packed cast on Monday, July 15 at 7pm at Don't Tell Mama to help raise funds for The Joyful Heart Foundation to help stop domestic violence and sexual assault. The show is musically directed by multiple MAC and Bistro Award winning Tracy Stark.
