On the heels of their critically acclaimed hit ALL OUR TRAGIC, The Hypocrites are pleased to continue their 2014-15 Season with another world premiere: a playful re-imaging of Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera H.M.S. The Flea Theater has announced another extension of Kim Davies' World Premiere SMOKE, directed by Flea Resident Director Tom Costello (The Wundelsteipen (and other difficult roles for young people)) and featuring members of The Bats, the resident acting company at The Flea. Says Producing Director Carol Ostrow, "where 50 Shades of Grey dances on the surface of BDSM, Smoke cuts to the core."

Rumble Theatre presents Tremors: a one of a kind festival featuring emerging directors, stage managers, designers, technicians and actors under the guidance of local theatre professionals. Each night, three shows (Trainspotting, This is War, and The 4th Graders Present an Unnamed Love-Suicide) are performed simultaneously in different spaces in the Russian Hall. When the shows are over, everyone sticks around for a big after-show party with the artists which will include (depending on the night) slam poetry, a drag show, burlesque or live music. It's the Fringe meets HIVE - with a twist, and three bars. Tremors runs tonight, November 12 through the 15th, 2014.

The Flea Announces 2nd Part of Grand Guignol Series, The Cutthroat Series: Grand Guignol Duels -- Cruelty, today, October 14-25.

The Flea Theater presents Pod 2 of their terrifying 4 part theatrical event - THE CUTTHROAT SERIES: GRAND GUIGNOL DUELS beginning October 14. These turn of the century French plays alternate between ghastly horrors and carnal comedies to create a gripping, deplorable evening of theater. To add to that thrill, audience members will vote on their favorite play from each of the four pods (titled GORE, CRUELTY, NIGHT TERROR, and LUST) and the winners will return for an extended run in January. The winner from GORE was TICS, OR DOING THE DEED.

The Flea Theater has announced the newest Dance @ The Flea series, featuring four choreographers for three nights only. Molissa Fenley, Amanda Loulaki, Nina Winthrop, and Roxanne Steinberg will be presenting original works October 9-11 at 7pm.

The return engagement is expected to feature most of the 23 original cast members. Audiences will have only 16 opportunities to enjoy ALL OUR TRAGIC in a single twelve-hour experience with 'marathon' performances on Saturdays and Sundays only (includes multiple intermissions, meal breaks with food provided and a cash bar). Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, October 1 at www.the-hypocrites.com.

Children's Theatre Company (CTC) will present Busytown the Musical, based on the beloved children's book 'What Do People Do All Day?' by Richard Scarry, adapted by Kevin Kling, directed by Sean Graney, with music by Michael Koerner and choreography by Tommy Rapley, on the UnitedHealth Group Stage today, September 16 - October 26, 2014. Live music performed onstage by Music Director/Sound Designer Victor Zupanc as a one-man band!

Slightly Altered States Theater Company presents the World Premiere of MR. LANDING TAKES A FALL, an absurdist comedy by Sari Caine, directed by Sherri Eden Barber. Inspired by Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the play was a PlayPenn 2013 semi-finalist and short-listed for both the 24/7 (UK) and the Ronald Duncan Award (UK). Previews begin tonight, September 12 at The Flea Theater with opening slated for Monday, September 22.
