According to Atlanta Movie Tours' website, the company is now offering tours of filming locations throughout the city led by zombies from The Walking Dead, which often uses locals as extras in the show. The first Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival was attended by over a thousand people this month at various screenings (10 features, 50 shorts) and panels. The creative vision of Philip K. Dick lives on as the borough becomes the setting of a myriad of films inspired by one of the genre's most celebrated contributors at The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival from December 7-9. Named for the iconic novelist and short story writer whose work inspired the films Blade Runner, Total Recall and Minority Report, the three-day Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival started a tradition of honoring films inspired by authors who have explored the metaphysical and eerie in all its manifestations.
The Guthrie Announces Casting for the Pillsbury House Theatre Production of BUZZER

The Guthrie Theater today announced complete casting for the remount of the Pillsbury House Theatre production Buzzer by Tracey Scott Wilson. Buzzer, co-commissioned by the Guthrie Theater and Pillsbury House Theatre, will be helmed by Tony-nominated director Marion McClinton and play the Dowling Studio from February 8-March 3, 2013. Buzzer was previously performed at Pillsbury House Theatre last fall.

Goodman Theatre announces a special staged reading of Roberto Bolaño's epic novel 2666-co-adapted for the stage and co-directed by Goodman Artistic Director Robert Falls and new Goodman Playwright-in-Residence Seth Bockley-tonight, December 17 at 6pm as part of Goodman's December 8 - 23 New Stages series. (Note: The reading of 2666 will last approximately five hours, including three intermissions).

The Wicked Young Writers' Award announced its winners for 2012 at a prestigious ceremony on 6th December at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, home of the award-winning musical Wicked. The ceremony was hosted by Louise Dearman, who stars as Elphaba, and prizes were presented by Michael Morpurgo, best-selling author of War Horse and Chair Judge of the Award.

Dallas Theater Center Partners with North Texas Food Bank for Fifth Consecutive Year

Dallas Theater Center and the North Texas Food Bank are teaming up for the fifth consecutive year to increase awareness about hunger in North Texas and to provide assistance to those in need. This partnership has become tradition for the two organizations, taking place during DTC's annual production of A Christmas Carol. So far, DTC patrons have donated over $175,000 to NTFB.
