World Premiere of THE RAPE OF THE SABINE WOMEN Comes to The Playwrights Realm

Led by Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing Director Roberta Pereira, The Playwrights Realm kicks off their 2017-18 season with the World Premiere of Michael Yates Crowley's The Rape of the Sabine Women, By Grace B. Matthias (August 25 - September 23) at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project. Directed by Tyne Rafaeli, this complex collision of satire and dark comedy fearlessly explores rape culture in America and was previously developed as part of The Realm's 2014-15 Writing Fellowship.

THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES Musical, Starring Uzo Aduba, Begins Workshop Run Tonight at Powerhouse

Vassar & New York Stage and Film's 33rd Powerhouse Season celebrates the opening of its highly anticipated musical workshop production of The Secret Life of Bees tonight, July 27, at 8 p.m. at the Vogelstein Center for Drama & Film, with performances continuing on Friday, July 28, Saturday, July 29, and Sunday, July 30. This is the final weekend of the season.

The Department of Theater at Brooklyn College is one of New York City's outstanding institutions in the training of theater artists. TheaterWorks Announces its 2017-2018 Season

Producing Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero announced today that TheaterWorks 2017-2018 Season will include The Wolves by Sarah De Lappe, Constellations by Nick Payne, The Legend of Georgia McBride by Matthew Lopez, Invisible Hand by Ayad Akhtar, and Hand to God by Robert Askins. 

Sharon Playhouse Sets Star-Studded Casts for 2017 Summer Season

Sharon Playhouse has announced complete casting for its 2017 Season. The season kicks off with MINOR CHARACTER: SIX TRANSLATIONS OF UNCLE VANYA, created by New Saloon (Morgan Green, Madeline Wise, and Milo Cramer), followed by FAR AWAY by Caryl Churchill (Love and Information). The season will conclude with a new, intimate chamber production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. In a shift that begins this season, Morgan Green (William Shakespeare's Mom) will direct all three productions, showcasing the talents and range of the rising director.

Zoe Kazan's New Play AFTER THE BLAST to Open LCT3's 2017-18 Season

LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater will open its 2017-2018 season with AFTER THE BLAST, a new play by Zoe Kazan, to be directed by Lila Neugebauer, beginning performances Saturday, October 7 and running for six weeks only through Sunday, November 19 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night is Monday, October 23.
