BWW Review: South Coast Rep Lovingly Skewers Telenovelas in DESTINY OF DESIRE

Lovingly skewering the not-so-subtle art of telenovelas, Karen Zacarías' winning play DESTINY OF DESIRE---now being performed at Orange County's South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa through November 13---compresses an entire series' worth of over-the-top melodramatic goodness into a two-act play that, not surprisingly, comes off as an intentionally hilarious comedy.

Canada's Honens Piano Announces Rules For 2018 Competition

Calgary-based Honens today announced details of its 2018 Piano Competition.  Pianists of all nationalities, aged 20 to 30 on August 30, 2018, with the exception of past Honens Laureates and professionally managed artists, may apply starting February 1, 2017.  The application deadline is October 31, 2017.  The Competition's Quarterfinals take place in Berlin and New York in March 2018.  Semifinals and Finals take place in Calgary from August 30 to September 8, 2018.

UniverSoul Circus Returns to Philadelphia for 20th Anniversary Season

UniverSoul Circus announces its return to Philadelphia for its 20th anniversary season in Fairmount Park (next to Mann Center) with 47 grand shows from tonight, November 3, through November 27, 2016. Theater Mitu's JUAREZ Explores Stories of the US/Mexico Border at The LATC
