First Corinthian Baptist Church Dream Center in association with The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce, HARLEM WEEK, Harlem Arts Alliance New Heritage Theatre Group, and Walk Tall Girl Productions on Wednesday, December 7 at 7PM at Harlem Hospital's Mural Pavilion, 136th Street and Malcolm X Blvd (Lenox Avenue) presents An Evening with Ruben Santiago-Hudson: Celebrating the Broadway directorial debut of August Wilson's Jitney, opening January 19, 2017.

Roundabout Theatre Company will conclude the world-premiere production of Jenny Rachel Weiner's Kingdom Come, directed by Kip Fagan, on Sunday, December 18. The cast features Crystal Finn (Layne), Carmen M. Herlihy (Samantha Carlin), Alex Hernandez (Dominick Aquendo), Socorro Santiago (Delores Aquendo) and Stephanie Styles (Suz) as part of Roundabout's 50th Anniversary season.

Cherry Lane (Angelina Fiordellisi, Founding Artistic Director; Seri Lawrence, Janio Marrero, Producing Artistic Directors) is proud to announce this year's playwrights and mentors for their Obie Award-winning Mentor Project, culminating with fully-staged productions presented at Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St. in NYC) from February 22 to May 6, 2017.  

Two casts, one great show!

Romeo & Juliet is directed by Nashville Shakespeare Festival's lead teaching artist Santiago Sosa and features a live musical score by Natalie Bell. The fast-paced and youthful production explores the themes of young love and rash acts of violence amid entrenched generational conflict. The star-crossed lovers will be played by newcomers Mason Conrad and Morgan Davis. The cast also features, Nat McIntyre, David Wilkerson, Corrie Maxwell, Rene Millan, Denice Hicks and many more.

The Ogunquit Playhouse has announced the launch of a new works program to incubate and develop new musicals for the stage. The program is helmed by Matt Schicker and will kick off on Monday, December 5 at 3:30PM at Pearl Studios in New York, NY, with an invite-only Actors' Equity Association stage reading of Frida, a musical with book and lyrics by Michael Aman and music by Dana P. Rowe.

The 2017 edition of ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL will see its RESISTANCE concept dominate not one, but two huge stages at Bayfront Park as it grows into a festival within the festival.

Celebrated singer / actor Domingo Quiñones will return to the stage to star in the hit Off-Broadway musical I Like It Like That beginning tonight, December 1, 2016, taking over the role of Roberto, currently played by Grammy nominee Tito Nieves.

Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre is bringing out the holly as Forte Productions presents 'A Very Kelsey Christmas.' Dates and times for this unique holiday event are Saturday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Scenes of a young Cuban-American woman discovering her own rebellious ancestry are swallowed by music, dance and ritual featuring some of the great dance and music artists this city has to offer, many coming out of Cuban and Haitian traditions, including Osvaldo "Bembesito" Lora, Val Jeanty, Maxine Montilus, Yomaira Gonzalez, Caridad Paisan Garbey, Daniel Gil, Hansel Vaillant, Miguelo Valdes, Charles Hart and Diosvany Valladares. Themes of black resistance - both historical and contemporary - swell in this colorful and immersive spectacle.
