Rehearsals have begun for Samuel Beckett's classic ENDGAME, directed by one of Beckett's most renowned interpreters Alan Mandell at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, April 24 through May 22, 2016. Irish actress Lisa Dwan, the premier interpreter of Samuel Beckett, is about to step down from the position this spring, but before she does, she will make  an appearance with the Beckett Trilogy at the The Broad Stage in Santa Monica in April. Why is this the first time that all 3 plays have been performed together? Well I guess one reason is that Not I is rarely performed and Footfalls has never been performed by one actress playing both roles of Mother (off stage) and May (on stage), and to my knowledge no other actress has tried to perform all three roles in one evening. Up until I tried it, I didn't even think it was possible. 

With Direction by Guilherme Weber the play brings in the cast Debora Bloch, Emilio De Mello, Fernando Eiras and Mariana Lima. Unprecedented in Latin America, 'The Realistic Joneses' was the debut of Will Eno on Broadway, in 2014.

Playwright and producer Cassie M. Seinuk is remounting her highly successful production of Eyes Shut. Door Open. Having debuted last summer with Wax Wings Productions, Eyes Shut. Door Open. is a modern-day Cain and Abel tale set in New York City. The play focuses on the curiosities of human relationships and explores the various dynamics within the vibrant and ever-evolving SoHo art scene. This remount will feature the original design team and cast: Victor Shopov, Michael Underhill, and Melissa DeJesus. Eyes Shut. Door Open. will be on stage at Warehouse XI, an event and gallery space in the heart of Somerville's Union Square, from May 12 - May 26, 2016.

Theater For The New City is proud to present the world premiere of Exile Is My Home, a provocative new play by internationally renowned author Domnica Radulescu.  Told as a sci-fi, post-apocalyptic fairy tale, Exile Is My Home is the haunting story of Mina and Lina, a refugee couple from the Balkans traveling through the galaxy in search of a planet to call home.  The play combines absurdist comedy, irony and suspense to raise consciousness about the current international refugee crisis and the complexity of issues related to it.  The story emerged partly from Radulescu's own experience as a political refugee from the former communist dictatorship of Nicolae Ceausescu and other accounts of displacement.  As millions of people are uprooted from their homes and swept across tumultuous seas and often unwelcome lands, Exile Is My Home highlights the importance of immigrant theater in bringing awareness about many of the challenges facing our world today.  

NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts will present Irish actress Lisa Dwan in her internationally acclaimed Beckett Trilogy: Not /Footfalls/ Rockaby, running for six performances from April 13 - 17, 2016, at NYU Skirball Center. Beckett Trilogy will open on April 13, the 110th Anniversary of Samuel Beckett's birth, and the opening night performances will feature a post-show celebration and conversation honoring Beckett's legacy.
