Sahr Ngaujah On Board for US Tour of FELA!

With 11 Tony ® Award nominations including Best Musical and Best Director of a Musical & Best Choreography for Bill T. Jones, the upcoming US tour of FELA! is set to be led by Sahr Ngaujah, who originated the role on Broadway. The tour will play the following US cities: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Tempe, and Washington.

Beyonce's New Album '4' is FELA! Inspired

Now gracing the cover of the latest Billboard Magazine, Beyonce reveals that her upcoming ablum, entitled 4, is largely inspired by the late Fela Kuti - subject of last season's Broadway hit Fela! produced by her husband Jay-Z. The album is set for release next month.

Music superstar Beyonce recenlty participated in a photo shoot with L'Officiel Paris in which she channeled Fela Anikulapo-Kuti- on whom the recent Broadway musical was based. Beyonce went as far as using blackface and tribal paint in the photoshoot, and the result has certainly sparked controversy.

It's GRAMMY Day! Who Will Win Best Musical Show Album?

The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards will take place live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 and broadcast on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Awards such as Best Musical Show album however will be revealed during the afternoon, and streamed online here.

FELA! Soon To Perform In Nigeria?

Fela! may soon be headed to Nigeria, according to the New York Times. The move was originally reported in June, when it was announced that FELA! has been asked by officials at the Nigerian Ministry of Culture to perform in Nigeria in October.
