Signature Theatre has announced a second one week extension for the world premiere of The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek, written and directed by Athol Fugard. The production, which opened on Monday, May 11 and already extended once through June 7, will now run through June 14 in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Highlights include music by Grammy Award-winning collective Snarky Puppy; Greg Barris's comedy showcase Heart of Darkness, featuring comedian Janeane Garofalo; and a performance by Chop and Quench, comprised of members of the cast and band of the musical Fela!.

Applause Africa, a multimedia platform that aims to celebrate, empower and connect the people, culture and visions of Africans in the Diaspora, announced today the 2014 Honorees for the AFRICAN DIASPORA AWARDS. The 4th Annual ADA Awards will be held on November 15 at Lincoln Center's Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College. The Red Carpet and cocktail reception begin at 6:00PM, followed by the awards show at 7:00PM.

HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, written by Todd Kreidler and directed by Kenny Leon, blazes to life in a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope. Inner city lives struggle for peace against the daily challenges they face in this entertaining and original musical. Through the poetry of one of the 20th century's most influential and culturally prominent voices, we are given a window into realities of the streets still relevant today. The second annual festival will feature a powerful lineup of artists who have drawn upon their roots for inspiration - and transplanted them onto the global music landscape. Africa Now will be anchored by a blow-out concert, April 5th, on the legendary Apollo stage featuring: Malian songstress Fatoumata Diawara; Senegalese trio Les Freres Guisse; and reggae/Afrobeat collective Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars.

On December 16th, Broadway star, Saycon Sengbloh (Motown The Musical / Fela), released her new single, Be Here, from her upcoming album. After an exclusive performance of the song at Drom in New York City, Saycon released the song via digital outlets such as iTunes, Amazon, and CD Baby, and sold physical copies at her show. KRONOS at 40 presents Red Hot + FELA LIVE! KRONOS AT 40, twenty-eight concerts and events (today, July 24-28), curated collaboratively by Lincoln Center Director of Public Programing Bill Bragin and Kronos Quartet's artistic director David Harrington, opens the 2013 edition of Lincoln Center Out of Doors. The mini-festival will spotlight daily appearances by Kronos, on its own and with special guests, includingMariana Sadovska, Magda Giannikou, Jherek Bischoff and Dan Deacon, whose composition features one of his most recent crowd-participation creations: a light-show generated by audience smartphones via his downloadable app.
