Despite the fact that I'm not exactly what you'd call a fan of the show CATS, I've always tried to keep an open mind whenever I've attended a production of it (just as I would with any other show I'm not particularly fond of), because you never know when you're going to be beguiled by an especially well done presentation that confounds your expectations. The Muny's current production of CATS does just that, and I have to admit that I enjoyed it more than any of the other versions I've seen to this point.

Greenstage presented Seattle's Outdoor Theater Festival in Capitol Hill's Volunteer Park over the weekend of July 10th and 11th to kick off the many Summer park shows around the Puget Sound area. The Jefferson Performing Arts Society (JPAS) will hold auditions for Ensemble Arts production of THE FANTASTICKS on Saturday, June 19 at the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre, 177 Sala Avenue in Westwego, beginning at noon. Auditioners should bring a headshot, resume and sheet music and prepare 16 bars (you may be asked to sing more) of a musical theatre song and a 1 minute upbeat/comedic monologue.
