Gateway Men's Chorus Presents MAMMA KNOW'S Concert 6/18-19

By: May. 26, 2010

Gateway Men's Chorus (GMC) wraps up their exciting 23rd season with Mama Knows! Friday and Saturday June 18 & 19, 2010 at 8 p.m. at The Edison Theatre On the campus of Washington University in St. Louis.

Come Out for a night of fabulous music and kick off your Pride Week with the Gateway Men's Chorus! Mama Knows! celebrates that inexplicable bond between mothers and sons. From sage advice about the dangers of combining electrical appliances and water to falling in love with a guitarist or trucker to sneaking out for dates, expect to laugh and perhaps even cry with the men of GMC as they admit Mama Knows, honey, Mama Knows!

The concert includes a Partnership Appearance by members of Growing American Youth and Special Guest Artist Nancy Kranzberg. Artistic Director Dr. Jeffrey Carter returns to the podium with NeAl Richardson as the featured accompanist. GMC member Tim Klippel is thrilled to take the podium in conducting the members of Growing American Youth.

Mama Knows! is GMC's tribute to their mothers who always seem to "know" things even before the "apple of their eye" cares to admit anything. Perhaps it was the personal grooming products that rivaled the cosmetic counter of a local department store or those clandestine meetings with "a friend"? Regardless, GMC honors their mothers with this light-hearted mix of music providing a wonderful conclusion to their 23rd season.

General admission seating is $25 and $20. Tickets are available online with NO ticket surcharge at www.gatewaymenschorus.org, from any chorus member, Botanicals Design Studio, Left Bank Books and Mokabe's. Discounted $20 seats for groups of 10 or more, students and senior citizens at just $15 are available by contacting the GMC office at 314-289-4169.

GMC also welcomes you to join them for a free performance at Pridefest the following weekend June 26 & 27, 2010 with an appearance on stage and in the Pride Parade. Also, look for GMC at their informational booth on the Pridefest grounds in Tower Grove Park. More information about this appearance can be found at www.pridestl.org

The men of the Gateway Men's Chorus sing to affirm the gay experience and promote a culture of diversity and acceptance. The Gateway Men's Chorus is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation.
