PALOMINO To Replace TYNAN As 3rd Production Of Center Theatre Group Season

Virtuosic writer-performer David Cale will bring his latest work to the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre this spring when his 'Palomino' replaces the previously announced 'Tynan' as the third production of the Douglas' 2009-2010 season, it was announced today by CTG Artistic Director Michael Ritchie.

Tony Award winner Frank Langella will join Grammy Award winner Debbie Moore for a holiday concert with the Boston Pops. The concert is the 26th annual presentation of 'A Company Christmas at Pops.' The concert will take place December 16th at the Symphony Hall in Boston. Keith Lockhart will conduct.

Sundance Institute announced today the lineup of films selected to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. Matt Weaver & Scott Prisand, two of ROCK OF AGES' lead producers and co-owners of the LA-based Corner Store Entertainment, have two films in the top dramatic category at Sundance Film Festival. The films, which star a host of stage stars, are SYMPATHY FOR DELICIOUS (Mark Ruffalo, Laura Linney, Orlando Bloom and Juliette Lewis) and HESHER (Natalie Portman and Joseph Gordon Levitt).

The hit tearjerker of a book written by Nicholas Sparks, is about a young couple falling in love in 1940s. Three-time Tony Award winner Frank Langella is among the American theater world's greatest living actors. Though he gained recognition as a film star in the 1970s, the stage has always been his first love. He spoke candidly with CBS Sunday Morning's Tracy Smith about his career, the work of an actor and the price of fame. His career off-Broadway was launched with an Obie Award in 1965 for his performance in poet-playwright Robert Lowell's The Old Glory: Benito Cereno. His other major off-Broadway productions include Edmond Rostand's Cyrano, Arthur Miller's After the Fall, John Webster's The White Devil, Heinrich von Kleist's The Prince of Homburg, Andre Gide's The Immortalist and Shakespeare's The Tempest. Langella's triumphs on Broadway include Tony Awards for Edward Albee's Seascape, for Turgeneve's Fortune's Fool and last year for his role as President Richard Nixon in the New York production of Frost/Nixon. He was just seen on Broadway in the recent Roundabout Theatre Company production of A Man for All Seasons.
