The Provincetown Theater brings the Broadway and West End hit "The Dresser" to its stage April 6 to 24. "The Dresser", written by Ronald Harwood, chronicles the end times of Great Britain's once-grand theatrical touring companies. The play, set in 1942, is both touching and hilarious, revealing the shabby egos, ridiculous obsessions, and blind loyalties played out behind the glamour of the stage.

Off-Broadway's The New Group will honor Ed Harris & Amy Madigan and Ellen Roth at the company's Annual Gala on Monday, March 7 at Tribeca Rooftop (2 Desbrosses Street between Hudson & Greenwich). Hosted by Mario Cantone, the event will feature performances by Jerry Dixon and Nat and Alex Wolff, and an appearance by playwright Beth Henley, author of Crimes of the Heart and The Jacksonian. Music Director is Sinai Tabak. The evening, 6:00-10:00pm, includes cocktails, dinner, and silent and live auctions.

Provincetown Theater's new Executive Artistic Director, Tristan DiVincenzo has announced the theater's extensive 2016 season. The year will explore a highly adventurous mix of theatre styles including: Shakespearean comedy; the side splitting farce of Oscar Wilde; the ground breaking dramatic work of Eugene O'Neill; the absurdism of Samuel Beckett and a completely re-imagined "A Christmas Carol".

Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game) takes on the title role of William Shakespeare's great tragedy directed by Lyndsey Turner and produced by Sonia Friedman Productions. Captured live earlier the same day, the event will be broadcast from London's Barbican Theatre to select U.S. cinemas.
